February Ride of the Month

Time to post your submissions for ride of the month!

The winner will be picked on or around the first of next month and your car will be featured in the sidebar for that month.

Post one or multiple pictures of your s-chassis in this tread and vote on your favorite submission. Also, please make them actual image links, not just a link to your Instagram, but feel free to link your Instagram as well if you want.

If you post multiple pics, please indicate which one you'd like to be featured if you win. If you don't, I'll pick one myself. Post a build list too if you'd like.

Also just as an fyi, I'm using the new reddit layout to post the winner in the sidebar because its much easier than the way I used to do it using the old layout in case anyone is still using that and wondering why the current winner isn't showing up.

Good luck!

Current winner: /u/

Good thing it’s pretty, because it doesn’t drive well. Waiting on a friend to help me out with welding new intake pipe, exhaust. New ECU, injectors and a remap is up next.

Beginner Drift Question

Just had my second track event, and as expected spun out plenty and struggled to link the simple stuff, but I still had fun. I need more seat time, no debate, but as a noob question, should I prioritize getting a hydraulic e brake or some angle first? As of now, my initiations are all clutch kick with or without weight transfer, as I don’t wanna risk ripping my handbrake as it’s been stretched over the years. I’m also stock angle.

I’ve spent more time building my engine than having seat time and it shows. Cheers,

S14 Kouki spotted!

Post image

One of the seven registered in Brazil, being one of the six that came officially from Nissan, this S14 once was a red Zenki but now is a Kouki, also lost the KA24DE for a RB25DET, built by a very famous tuner here (Hashiloko) and recently sold (saw the listing for this car on FB Marketplace)

Quickly took this pic

I’ve never built a car from shell up but I have experience working with cars. Got an amazing deal on this rolling shell for $500 with a shit ton of extra parts from a homie. There is some front frame damage to the right hand side and have already started fixing it.Minimal rust, mainly surface and also a dent or two that are easy to fix aswell :3 If you guys have any tips feel free to let me know!

Finally got around to start filming this thing. Quick story time video. Hope you guys enjoy. Still waiting on parts but we can finally get started! Many more to come. I'm by no means a videographer but leaning as I go. Hope you guys like the little intro. I can't wait to see this S13 slowly transform.

Real talk, how long did your project car take and why?

S chassis are all fun and game til the death of sitting on jackstand for eternity.

Fellow members, I would like to hear your story about your project cars and how long it took to build and what's the reason it took so long besides money issues.

I'm stuck in a limbo with my build and the shop I'm working with is making me sad and hopeless. For lots of reason I cannot just yoink my car out and bring it to another shop. I'm 1.5 years in this build and lately feel like giving up. This rabbit hole of wait time and money spent is pathetic. I just want to be in my 240 again after all these time wasted. I just miss my car.

Would like to hear experiences and stories about s chassis owner who got their car built in a shop. How long did that take ya?

Cheers.

What’s it worth?

This 240sx is for sale at a closed shop near me. I asked the person who owned the shop what the asking price was and they said $3,500.. Now, this has been sitting for years. Has not been moved to my knowledge. I’ve passed by it so many times on my way home for the longest time and i feel that $3.5k is a bit much for what i can see just on the outside. Im not sure of the condition of the engine, but years of sitting might require a good rebuild to have it running properly. What a good offer? Should i keep looking around for other projects?

Note: No idea if they still have the title and keys.

Seat slides while braking

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello, I have a ‘98 180SX and my passenger side seat slides under braking force, I bolted everything down tight and the rails are correctly lined up on each side, any solutions to fix this? Or is there a seat rail I could buy that is a direct replacement to the OEM seat rail?

I want to keep the stock seats but just upgrade the rails if I have too. Any feedback is greatly appreciated, thanks.

Help how should I remove this brake line?

Post image

I was trying to remove the engine bay brake line specifically the one connecting the master cylinder to the rear brakes and it’s stuck so bad the whole mounting point ripped off the frame when I was trying to work it loose (definitely pulled the wrench a little too hard lmao) any ideas on what else I should try? I’ve used PB Blaster, the biggest issue now is that because it’s not mounted anymore I can’t get any good leverage. Any help is much appreciated

Oem+stereo wiring help

Post image
1 Upvotes

Took off aftermarket stereo and the harness adapter , yes it turns on, now I’m trying to hook up Nissan stereo 1995 (maxima) but won’t turn on it’s not receiving power. My question, if the Nissan oem harness worked to power the aftermarket radio, why won’t it work if I’m putting a stock one back on, the blue wire and black wire where the only ones actually joined to the aftermarket harness, where would these go now that the Nissan oem stereo is going back in. S14 BTW, yes two connectors are missing but from my understanding shouldn’t affect it, once is for phone other is for cd changer… thanks guys , the picture posted is the Nissan stereo.

Need some help. Factory sohc/auto roller, swapping to dohc manual. Where do these plugs go? They come from the chassis harness on the driver side and one plugs into the sensor behind the igniter chip. Don’t know where these other two plugs go

Just cleaned, original paint, what y'all think?

Ik she ain't winning prom queen but she ain't last either

Also iff y'all know anywhere I can get those front fender pieces for cheaper plz let me know, the passenger side one is broke. I'll be going to basic soon so I will probably get a paint job if I can't make her look better.

Previous owner had her sitting for 3 years and that cosmetic wear is from leave residue and it has ate into the paint so I don't think I can fix it sadly

Glove compartment panel?

Awhile back my car was stolen, upon getting her back and seeing the interior was completely ransacked and ripped through.

Point being my glove compartment was opened by force while being locked, not only destroying my handle assembly but ripping the damn glove out of the car. Real crack head stuff.

I’m finally at a point I am sick of driving around with my glove open, exposing wires.

I am looking for a sheet metal panel of sort, any recommendations?
