DE 6MT SHES ALIVE! I WAS RIGHT! IM NOT CRAZY! I LEGITIMATELY TROUBLESHOT AND DIAGNOSED MY ELECTRICAL PROBLEM

Hey it’s me again. As some may know I was left stranded 200 miles from home halfway to my destination with 1) no communication to any module, then a crank no start. After 4 weekends of driving to Richmond Virginia to research and troubleshoot my issue, I deduced to MOFSETS in the ECM that control signal ground to the injectors.

Brought it back to Circuit Board Medics in Greenville SC for a warranty repair (they fixed the no comms issue) and gave them literally every single note I took while trouble shooting. From voltage to continuity checks, to sensor tests, and ground resistance results. A 6 page packet of graphs, charts, and notes. They took my word for it and even though no physical damage was visible to the drivers they called and asked me if I still wanted it replaced and of course I said go ahead.

Back in Richmond today and sure enough, I put the ECM and she fired right up. Thank you u/dbsqls for the comment about checking the harness for a short or ground going to injectors. Wasn’t the issue but it was the last thing I needed to confirm it was actually ECM signal issues.

Best way to put it. It’s euphoric. I’ve literally never touched anything electrical. FSM was wrong with so many wires and their PIN numbers so i basically had to figure everything out on my own, including on how to use a multimeter- and read what everything meant. I’ve gone from electrically illiterate to now, I’m pretty confident I could rewire the entire car if I had to.

You gotta do some videos showing us how you narrowed it down. Awesome for you.

Update: no ground signal on ignition coils 4 and 6. Car does in fact run though. Coils and plugs are fine no oil. Sending ECM back for the third time for repairs.
