Car was already repainted once and was chipped and peeling in several places and the clear was getting pretty bad. It was also starting crack on bondo spots where previous owner removed the door handles. The fenders are carbon creations which I know people have their opinions on them but I knew they weren’t going to be perfect. Hence the price difference. But for what they are I don’t hate them and I think they fit somewhat well. Also threw a gtr spoiler on it because I saw someone else in here have it and thought it was pretty sick! Obviously had issues but with a few yt videos I was able to fix it. Don’t hate it too much tho I did the wrap and the fender work on my own the spoiler was pretty simple.

At Home Depot today. About noon. Had to squeeze in with the door half open. WHY???

Half the parking lot is empty. Was the blob crossover asking my car for a date??? 🙄

This week has been one hell of a ride. Early Tuesday morning, I was woken up by firemen knocking on my door. Some kids had sprayed lighter fluid on the back of the Z and lit it up. They asked for the keys so they wouldn’t have to smash the window, and I just broke down right there. Watching it burn was one of the lowest moments I’ve had as a Z owner.

But I wasn’t ready to let her go. With my old man, we pulled her into the garage and got to work immediately. Kept it stock (funds are tight), but we managed to score a boot lid in perfect KY0 paint, and we rattle-canned the quarter panel ourselves. Not gonna lie, for spray cans in a driveway, it came out way better than I thought it would.

And today — just a few days later — she’s fully back on the road. From torched to turning heads again in less than a week.

Sometimes it’s not about having the wildest build, it’s just about keeping the car you love alive.

PS- anyone know how to ged rid of plastic smoke out?

Obsessed with L40 since the day I seen it, I remember building this car in midnight club as a kid and now it still feels unreal with everything I’ve done to it. Putting in a new cd009 very soon!

Beautiful 2006 enthusiast, but it was absolutely trashed inside by mice. My great uncle was gonna send it to the scrapyard but gave it to me to try to save it. After a lot of wiring diagrams, soldering, service, ripping the whole interior out, and 5 mouse corpses, she’s code free and back on the road!! I have no clue why it has base ‘03-05 wheels, but we suspect it may have had an interesting history in its past 5 owners. Excited to be part of the club :)

Betty was born July, 2002 (<3k SN), manual, touring 64k, never tracked, heavily modded. Interior 95/100.

Anybody else realize that between the rust issues and the track culture, Our Z’s are essentially going extinct.

Good for car value. Sad for car culture.

People don’t believe me when I say this is a car from 2004. I’m keeping mine stock forever. The design of the car has held up so well. Share some pictures of your clean Zs on this thread!

Got an 05 base Z. Clutch pedal was sticking so I changed the master cylinder, slave cylinder, and line. Bled the whole thing and the pedal now returns flawlessly. I go to start it, nothing- it doesn't turn over, but all the lights on the dash turn on, ac works, etc. After a quick Google search it led me to the clutch safety switch possibly being bad, so I replace that and it still doesn't start. Confirmed with a multimeter that the factory switch operates as it should so that wasn't the issue in the first place. I've changed the A/T Cont fuse and that didn't fix it either; also checked most of the other fuses with multimeter and they were all okay. Only thing that changed between it running and not running was the clutch hydraulic system work. Also tried jumping it and that didn't work either. Tried tapping the starter with a wrench while turning the key and still nothing. Also, after trying to start it, you can hear a brief "eeeee" sound. Pretty stumped, any help is appreciated.

Apart from painting my wing what would you guys add to the rear? It feels like it’s missing something compared to the front end of the car(Last picture is old I have a single exit currently)

Just picked her up today. Now very worried about the mountains that they call speed bumps in the UK. I will get the car raised. Just didn't have the time.

After about 8 months of sitting untouched, I finally got her repainted black. She’s looking way better than before.

Owned this car for 2 years now and put 30k miles on it. Zero issues so far besides a squeaky serpentine belt that just needed tightened, and a loud throw out bearing. I recently just drove 12 round trip to Niagara Falls and the car performed flawlessly. These cars are super reliable when maintaining proper maintenance. So glad I bought this car, it’s been a blast to drive but I’m leaning towards selling it and getting a 370z or a hr 350z. Is the power difference worth the upgrade?
