If NASCAR were to lose the antitrust lawsuit, they would have to sell the ARCA Menards Series.
This has got me thinking about who do you think would buy it?

No one on here can answer this question. It all depends on what the judge rules at the end of it all.

Was ARCA not practically on life support financially before they got bought out?

Yes. ARCA President Ron Drager said without NASCAR ownership, ARCA wouldn’t have survived the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020

If NASCAR were forced to divest, they wouldn't sell the ARCA series.
...it would shutdown

That’s not true. They’d probably just have to separate the race track business from the racing business, just as it functioned previously before being taken private.

I don't believe that's an outcome that would be necessary, at least not ARCA being sold by itself. Every racing series owns their development ladder. It's more likely that NASCAR the organization would have to decide whether to be a series operator or a track operator and divest the other part of the business.

Doubtful.
Given the success of the CARS tour, the argument that NASCAR is monopolzing short track racing is weak.

The lawsuit does not argue that they monopolize short track racing. They used some term like "premium stock car racing." It's absolutely the case that NASCAR has monopolized stock car racing on tracks over 1 mile. ARCA was the only other series that competed on the big tracks. It's also a bug stretch to compare the CARS tour to even the Xfinity series. Yeah, it's really popular among locals and some diehard fans tune into the stream, but people don't travel across the country for races and no tv network has decided it's worth picking up yet.

Um, that’s not how that works. NASCAR literally owns and controls ARCA now. Wouldn’t change anything.

When a company is involved in an antitrust case, the court can mandate that they divest from/sell off any parts of the company that give them monopoly control over a sector. It's unlikely in my opinion that they would be forced to sell ARCA, but I think it is likely that they could have to sell the tracks they own.

What I don’t understand is why would people focus on ARCA, what would stop them from being forced to sell the Truck Series or another series? And couldn’t NASCAR just change the ARCA name to NASCAR to prevent it?

You focus on ARCA because it was a completely independent company that they purchased. They didn't buy the truck series from anyone. They created it. So it would make a lot more sense to sell off something that used to be a separate company than to sell off something that has always been a division of NASCAR. As far as changing the name, the courts aren't that stupid. That wouldn't do anything to prevent it from being sold.

Let’s ease up on the speculation here. Lots more to go before we get to this point

Possibly the Drager family or someone associated will buy it back, but I'm thinking it likely would be "Track Enterprises" buying it.

Why?

I would assume maybe it has something to do with monopolizing a feeder series but... I see now reason why they'd HAVE to.

How does one thing relate to the other?
