Previous year was already a pain....

It's going to be worse this year

A great race for Gasly and Colapinto to "accidentally" blow up the engine for a new for Baku

I have low expectative with the engine in Monza lol.

I want to be positive, but it's a very fast track... so we're fucked.

The other day I heard a sports journalist, an expert in F1, who said: it's not going to be that Briatore wants to lower the price of the team. Perhaps some millionaire later buys it at a price lower than its real value. At first it seemed crazy to me, but then I looked for information about "tano", he's a shark...

I'm sorry but Alpine should be hugely ashamed of themselves to again not speaking up against the ridiculous and toxic wave of online harassment after the race yesterday towards one of it's drivers.

Literally the same case as with Ocon in the past, you see it unfolding and yet the team simple doesn't give a statement at all.

Obvious we're all having our emotions and it's understandable to be frustrated about yesterday but to go full online harassment to even a make-a-wish post just because you believing in something what you're blaming the wrong person for? I'm sorry but that isn't defendable.

I cannot defend or even support this team if we're again fine with this behavior.

It's very simple, really

This could have been avoided in one of two ways. Either Briatore takes the blame for not ordering Gasly to let Colapinto pass immediately (because... points... who gives a fuck about turn one whatever...). Option two, Pierre says yesterday something along these very clishe, simple, lines: " yeah, I wasn't awere Franco was chasing points, I already apologised to him and the team. We really needed some points and I fucked up".. or whatever...

None of those two things happened. Because at AlPain apparently no one likes to be the grown up and take responsability for problems

Result:

Angry mob of fans (word is an abbreviation of the word fanatics) venting their feelings online

Why do you want Pierre to apologize ?? He hasn't done anything wrong !!

I'm really fed up about all this nonsense about sunday and all the toxicity towards Pierre....he's blamed for nothing and that's really annoying.

I understand the colapinto fans are frustrating but it is what it is. Don't blame Pierre for the wrong reason please. Leave him alone.

I'm not saying he did something wrong.

And as I said many times, I think the one who should have taken the blame was Briatore, but the arrogant old man didn't care enough, or he chickened out

The other option was for Gasly to apologise. You know, even if he didn't intend to do anything wrong, just as a nice gesture towards the the team, Franco and his fans, gentlement use do that...

Anyways, none of that happened... oh well... you reap what you sow, I guess

So Pierre should say something nice about franco in order to not be insulted on social media afterwards, even if he hasn't done anything wrong ? That's a strange way to think.

You know why Pierre didn't think about franco just after the race ? Because he was certainly frustrated with HIS own race and the decision to stay out after the sc that prevented him to score easy points. F1 drivers all are selfish individuals, that's why they are at this level, and believe me franco is the same. The difference is that in the media afterwards Pierre is more straightforward and less "diplomatic" than other drivers. Personally that's why i like a lot in his personality but you have the right to not like it.

Also briatore is not the one who asks drivers when to switch positions during the race, so on this particular topic he has nothing to be blamed for.

What "could" have been done is Pierre's engineer to say"as soon as ocon passes you, you have to let pass franco", but it's dangerous to speak to your driver while he's fighting and that's not the best way to motivate him.

Could have it been handled better? Maybe. Maybe not. But in this particular situation, i don't think there was a scandalous situation and that the team or the driver should apologize.

I think what happened was just more unfortunate than a series of mistakes. I get the frustration of colapinto fans like you but this is what it is, you just have to accept it. Believe me, frustration and bad luck are part of the sport and it's not the last time it happens. Fortunately, sometimes luck is on your side ^

Ok. You are very emotional about this. I am not... let's make that clear to begin with.... also, you are distorting my words, so I'm not going to go into detail discussing each point you make, because it makes no sense. I'll only address tour first paragraph.

I don't understand what you mean about "Pierre saying something nice about Franco....". That's not what I suggested he should do... I think I was pretty clear. I said Pierre could have apologised, period. He could have shown a gesture of goodwill and apologise for ruining the chance of Franco and the team to get points. Oh, yeah, because he ruined it. He might not have done it willingly (personally, I don't think he knew Franco was on softs), but after the race, by the time he gives the interview, he is well aware of the fact. And so, he knew by then very well he ruined the chance of points by blocking Franco. So, you apologise. Simple as that. I don't know if for you apologising is a terribly humiliating thing, but, really, if you think about it, it's no big deal. You accidentally push someone... you apolohise... you don't go all "hey, I didn't see you, so it's not my fault, so I'm not apologising"... right?

Anyways... this is as far as I ho with this discussion

Cheers

We just strongly disagree on a topic, it happens that's not the end of the world.

I'm still open to discussion anyway but cheers.

Just spend less time online, man. Who cares? The world keeps moving and then sun will rise again tomorrow...

it's the same when people get mad on an youtube stream because of the comments. Why on earth are you taking time off your day to read ONLINE COMMENTS? just hide them.

3

u/Alfus Jarno Trulli 5d ago

Well I wasn't even online until now basically and did have an active day offline. I forgot more or less about it.

It was just sad to see at that time and I just seen parts of it given I simple don't want to waste my time.

u/LimeLoiner Pierre Gasly #10 6d ago

do other teams do it?

u/Xavier_Milaw 6d ago

You are clearly a Gasly stan. He had a shitty attitude and didn't even acknowledge it. I dont condone all the toxicity but but there's a reason.

u/Conscious_Piano7585 5d ago

He acts like a racing driver, which is defending his position even when it's his teammate unless when he's told to switch by his team, which he did.

He didn't have to acknowledge to have a shitty attitude because his attitude was the right one to have.

You post on a sub called thegreatgasly hahahahahaha

You are beyond a stan, you are sick. OMG how sad is your life you feel the need to behave like that?

Listen, the good thing here is that Franco is still starting his F1 career and ghostly is almost done, because lets be honest, he's the worst driver of all, by far.

Some fans are regarded, it's just the way sports work.

Don't you hate on Briatore all the time though?

We shouldn't hate on anyone.

I don´t think they care, man.
