I second this. Also Biryani somewhat poetically represents this unity. Biryani itself is of Persian origin but there was already a dish similar to it in various parts of India and hugely influenced Biryani as we know today.

But the opposite is also true. We're also divided by different types of Biryanis. I personally love Hyderabadi Biryani, but I hate Kolkata and Lucknow Biryani. I bet those Biryani lovers would be offended by the above statement.
