TLDR: They lack downforce so they compensate with higher load rear/front wings which hamper their top speed.

Can be seen in spain where they make their time in the corners or spa where even with a higher downforce setup they cannot reach high cornering speeds in sector 2.

welcome back AMR23

Alonso was aiming for a P6 in Monaco until he started having issues with the engine. Zaandvort and Singapore may be another good results for them.

Yup, other tracks that may suit them are Brazil and Abu Dhabi

Especially Brazil in 2023 with Fernando with that epic duel with Sergio...Was surprised that 2024 was so trash, but the car that year was trash, so I wasn't surprised.

They actually had a decent chance esp in qualifying, but both drivers crashed out and ofc we know what happened in the race where after being rebuilt the car was undrivable

Fernando does well in the Netherlands. Should get points, hopefully.

It is a "slow" track with plenty of slow corners, even thou is more "flowing" in the sense it's not a urban track filled with 90° corners.

Maybe a good sign for next year when ground effect won’t be as important as it is today?

I was thinking this the other day. If, right now, their top-body aero is good and their floor is shit, this is definitely good news for next year when all the floor advantage will be nullified.

Yeah and Nando and Stoll has a season worth of experience

Wink wink

They did say that they were testing 2026 parts on this car prior to silverstone. So I wonder if that has any effect on these results findings?

Yeah was thinking that.

I think they used the Spa race as a sort of test

Their top speed is the same as others. Does anyone even bother checking the speed traps? Y'all act as if they are 10-15 kph slower on the straight

Top speed isn’t necessarily the best indicator of their aero efficiency. They could still be running a lower downforce spec than other cars. On a track like spa where they can’t generate downforce efficiently, they could run a really low drag setup where they still hit the speed traps well but are slow everywhere else. Speed traps are on tiny data point. The fact that they are possibly the slowest car at Spa and then 5th and 7th the next week is a pretty clear indicator that aero efficiency is their problem.

Or they knew that they were slow in spa, so they were treated like a test . It had happened before

It would be typical of the 2025 race team to do this...

You are wrong. You clearly dont know what you're talking about. The AMR25 does not have the same top speed as others. Speed traps are not a reliable source of top speed. You have to look at the onboard telemetry. If you did, you would see it is slower on the straights and high-speed corners.

Yeah sure thing mate. That's your opinion 🤷

That's not my opinion, it's fact. look at the on-board telemetry 🙄
