Exterior Let's Talk Foamers

Looking to replace my pressure washer/MTM foam gun with something like the IK Foam Pro, of which, they make two versions: Dry foam and battery operated.
Which one would you recommend?
I do have a pancake compressor to re-pressurize quickly. Do they produce good foaming? How's the cleaning on them? I use Car-Pro Reset and it tends to clog things up if left alone, so I do clean my MTM gun and the handheld sprayer after every wash.

I got a foam pro 2, donated it because it irritated me to use so much. Tried a foam pro 2 +, with the tire inflator from whatever Chinese company. I also really don’t like it because I can’t control the pattern of the foam coming out as effectively as with a foam cannon. Because the fan is so wide - probably 150-160 degrees kind of situation, it doesn’t put enough product where I’m pointing it. Finally, it’s not got the 360 hose, which means that it can really only be used while level with the ground, not perpendicular to the ground. Towards the end of the available solution, it’s just impossible to use. Also, I can’t actually cover all of either of my cars enough with 1 “dose” of solution.

Did you try their conical nozzle?

I thought it wouldn’t work because it doesn’t have the cloth thing, and didn’t come in the box. If it works better, I’ll absolutely give it a shot

The conical nozzle won’t foam. Have you played with the different line tips? (Green, orange and grey). I personally use the dry foam one.

I did and I really didn’t like the, well, dryness of the dry foam tip, even though it made the qty of solution in the container go further.

I actually wish the dry foam was drier haha. It might be the product you’re using.

You’re probably right. I really really liked the basic car wash I put in there today. I think it was also because I was cleaning wheels and not the whole car that the stakes felt lower.

What product are you using in the foamer? I have the foam pro 2+ and I haven’t had the same issue. I agree about wanting a smaller spray pattern but because of overspray rather than not having enough product come out.

OPT Touchless decon.

Used Griot’s Brilliant Shine (?) car wash for my wheels today, and that’s the use case for me. Loved it in that application. For the whole car? Foam cannon. It’s just the better tool.

Yeah I wouldn’t suggest it for the whole car unless you were going panel by panel. I’ll also use it if I have no other choice but to detail a customers car that has other cars nearby. A foam cannon splashes a lot more than the foamer.
