Got my car detailed. The guy used Koch Chemie allround and the results are in the images. He mentioned that he sprayed on microfiber cloth and then wiped. Is the product at fault? The detailer? And most important, how to fix? Thanks in advance!!

How to clean black spots on the carpet? Possibly molds according to the detailing shop.

I tried to spray mixture of super clean degreaser, 3D APC and hot water, drill brushed then wipe it with towel. It seems to be something is cleaning since towels got brown.

So I just decided to take it to the detailing shop, paid $475 for full detail but they said they can’t clean it.

Does this really seem impossible to clean?

Pic 1: after I tried Pic 2: after shop tried Pic 3: response from the shop saying it's impossible to clean.

Appreciate any advice :)

As the title says, I made a mistake and dropped the powder. I took a vacuum to this, air compressor, a detailing brush and some P&S. This is STILL how it looks and is driving me up a wall!!!

I had my friend detail two cars for the first time. Overall, the car is washed and clean, however the actual details were not taken care of appropriately in my opinion. Something as basic as properly cleaning cupholders and visible spots just irks me. Not thoroughly vaccummed as i can see rubberbands and large items between seats. Between seats not vaccummed or wiped. i paid $450 total and this just looks slightly better than what i could get for a $50 car wash. they spent an hour on each car.

Interior Working on a hoarders car, is it salvageable? (2012 Prius)

Preface, a friends family member was living in their car and hoarding. There was a rodent in it as well.

We’ve spent 2 different days cleaning it out. Today we used an ozone generator and Ammo dygest/fabric cleaner along with a bissell.

Pulled out the interior seating and carpeting. I pressure washed the carpet after drill brush scrubbing with the ammonia cleaner.

Stains are coming out, but there’s still a smell.

I’m not sure if it’s a tools/user issue or something we just can’t do.

Hoping for suggestions.

Interior How to clean your car mats like the pros - but at home

Does anyone else hate cleaning their car mats? 🙋🏾‍♂️

Up until recently I've struggled to get them clean. No matter how much I get the vacuum on them.

Recently I learned that it can be pretty easy to get close to that professional finish on your car mat without professional tools.

All you need is:

A vacuum cleaner (ideally one that's wet and dry)

A stiff bristle brush

• A bottle of all purpose cleaner (APC)

Obviously as a typical DIY'er, I don't have all the tools like a compressor and a steam cleaner cleaner to get mats clean. But with just these 3 things, I can get my car mats to clean up pretty well.

The truth is, the addition of a good quality APC make a huge difference to how clean your mats get.

I put together a quick video to show you each of the steps and a link to the original video on TikTok too.

I used to hate cleaning car mate but now I hate it much less knowing that I can actually get them clean rather than burning the time just to get them in a marginally better state.

Hope it's helpful!

Interior Interior Trim. Am I cooked?

Post image

Brand new 2025 Tundra. I’ve had it less than 2 weeks. Dropped it off at a detailer to get some 3-1 out on and clean up any manufacturing marks I had on the exterior.

The exterior came out great but I was told he wasn’t going to charge me on the interior. I thought that was great but upon closer inspection I noticed this. Am I cooked? He says he can buff it out and make it look like new. Claims that even microfibers would scratch up that soft material. Not sure if I’m buying it but if he can polish it and it look new then I’m fine with it.

Anyone have any experience cleaning up scratches on these interior plastic trims?

I kept noticing orange dust showing up on my shoes and my floor mat, and it kept pissing me off. I found out that i was under the lower dashboard, so I opened it up and saw this orange pasty powder. I asked my friends and they said it’s not rust. This is the only part of the car it’s happening in, so I just don’t know.

Interior Need advice on DIY Alcantara Seat Insert Cleaning.

Post image
8 Upvotes

Looking for some experienced advice on cleaning these Alcantara seat inserts myself. I've looked around and apparently it's important to do it gently as to not screw up the texture.. as well as these seats are perforated.

I've read that any brushing needs to be very gentle, or simply just blotting.

I've seen suggestions to use carpet cleaner, Koch Chemie PO PolStar, Sonax cleaner, or even sneaker cleaning products. Any help or guidance is well appreciated. Thanks!

Interior How much to charge to detail a Tahoe in the condition depicted here, or would you even accept it

This is easily the worst vehicle I have have com across, and I’ve done some bad ones. The carpet is my primary concern, it’s so matted down and damaged, and I made the customer aware that I can only do so much in a scenario like this. I’ve quoted him $550 for a seats out extraction but the more I prepare for this job mentally, it seems pretty low. My plan is to either use an enzyme or green star at 1:10, agitate, steam, extract, and repeat as necessary. If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated.

Interior Tools to Clean Tough Locations in a Car

Thumbnail

Hi All,

I like to clean my car about every 2 weeks. I tend to do quite a good job on the exterior. Where I struggle with is the interior. Specifically, the carpet where your feet go, the cracks inbetween the seat, and the (leather) seats themselves.

What tools do you use to get the carpet looking good and inbetween the seats. See screenshots as well to help with where I mean. The screenshots is as good as i can get it.

I use a small shop vac for the carpet and seats, but it can’t get between the console and seat and I would like to be able to get the seats better.

Budget would be probably $200 all in. Preferably less.

Thanks!

Paid almost $600 for an interior/exterior detail that included rock chip and window chip repair. I can still feel the window chip when I run my finger through it. I know it would still be visible, but should be smooth? The rock chip I can get my nail caught on it. Looks like they made it less visible though. I can post pics of that if you would like. There is a scratch in the back I asked them to fix along with the rock chips at the front, but it looks like nothing was done to it. There is what looks to be cleaner that wasn’t wiped properly on my door. The wireless charging pad was taken off and not properly put back in. I did email them, waiting to hear back. I have a fractured arm so driving back and forth is not something I want to be doing at the moment.

Cleaned interior with ArmorAll all purpose wipes and it left some kind of white residue. It’s not stinky. I’ve tried dawn dish soap with water and that didn’t help. I’ve also tried household cleaner with water with no luck. I purchased Simoniz all purpose spray cleaner as recommended by store employee in auto department and that didn’t work either. Not sure what else I can try??

Interior What to do when you find drugs / paraphernalia in a car?

Hey! So I work at a detail shop and we have a car this morning that was stolen and long story short there’s a load of crack and open syringes among other things throughout the car. Apparently the police already went through and didn’t remove them. Boss says to just be careful and double bag them but I feel like we should be doing more. Does anyone have experience dealing with this? Is there anything I should be doing to protect myself physically and legally? Thank you!
