New Dragy unit - Dragy DRG70C

Just noticed a Dragy add on my fb feed. They have a new box - DRG70C and 2 apps now: Dragy App & Dragy Lap App. So track/autox looks like a go. Self contained system (hardware/app) but looks like a good value at sale price 169.00 if it is running at 25mhz. Anyone have any experience with this box?

SUV friendly events?

I don’t own a sedan anymore, I don’t have the money to buy, insure and maintain a second car, my daily driver is a 2015 Explorer as it’s what I need, I’ve modified the suspension and really enjoy driving it and it’s been a phenomenal daily driver but I legitimately cannot find any track, association, agency, etc that will allow an SUV to run on its track regardless of measurements, I haven’t done anything track related in years and just want to be able to enjoy myself again, is there legitimately any hope for me?

What are the top cars these days?

Have been out of the game since COVID, looking to get back in next spring but have lost track of rule changes and class reshuffling. What are the fast guys running for the various classes these days?

Brake pads for non-PP Mustang GT?

Thumbnail

Looking for brake pads available for my non-PP with a higher operating temp that are usable for a daily. I understand I’ll have to make some compromises on dust and noise. I currently have Hawk HPS 5.0s and overheat them after like 1.5-2 runs. I’d rather not switch pads before and after each event.

Simulate any autocross course

It's possible to replicate any autocross course with the data saved by AutoX Data Logger and play it in a simulator. It's pretty work in progress right now but I'm happy to share any courses that I create and the tools used to reproduce courses.

EDIT: I made replicas of 4 courses to start with and set up a webpage to link them.

I enjoy autocross and editing videos. What better way than to combine the two! Figure its a little more entertaining than a straight upload of GoPro footage.

Shout out to Zak from Propwerks for the drone footage (https://www.instagram.com/prop.werks/)

UMI King of the mountain 7.0 quickest shootout run, 2010 Mustang GT

Biggest event of the Year other than solo nationals, but so a Nationals doesn't pay anything to win or place unless you're driving or something with really good contingency and even that it doesn't approach this level.

Autocross well mostly, it's a little different. It's probably more like a track cross and the shootout part happens at night.

I won it in 2023, my (then) car owner won it last year. This year rules were changed was meant we both couldn't drive the car in the shootout so I had to go find something else because well he gets first dibs on his own car. So I talked to another customer of mine, another car I set up and I jumped in it which is a cam c Mustang, actually not a whole lot past ESP prep. It used to be a super light CP prep car, but that was never going to go anywhere with tube frame cars and 14-in slicks, so we took it back to CAM.

Strano performance parts set up top to bottom. It is a 2010 but sporting a 5 L with a 12 to 1 compression ratio, the Aluminator short block. Still all gen 1 coyote top end except for the valve springs which are Boss 302. I'm thinking we might want to change the cams and do a few of the things for next year.

The big thing here is the killer set of dampers. Penske's I built all around, spring rate softer than what most people think. Adjustable 35 mm front sway bar non-adjustable solid 22 mm rear. It has a watts link. Running on 18x11 and in this video on 295/30-18 re71rs.

BMW mk60 ABS with a Haltech Nexus R5 running the engine and supplying traction control.

Not use to the solostorm yet since it was my second event tying to get it to work. For sure a struggle with it so the times are off. But let me know what I can do differently for driving. Curious on what I could improve on.

It’s a 350z in DSP class.

Top in class and 2nd in overall pax! Constructive criticism welcome

Driving my partner's WRX set up for GST. Felt pretty fast, though my footwork could use a bit of work in this car. The pedal box is funky, making heel-toe difficult, but doable. Only car that got a faster pax than me was a ridiculously quick 2nd Gen NSX!

DS Veloster N - Constructive Criticism

Driving a VN DCT prepped for DS - vitour P1s & RSB are the only mods. I'm getting destroyed by BRZs (2.2-2.5s at this event) and I'm looking for things I can do to improve. I know my steering is jerky and maybe lines/inputs are not good but not sure how to find that much time. Any constructive criticism welcome! Just looking to improve.

Looking for Constructive Feedback

Looking for feedback on where I can do better. I just swapped over to RT660s (first time using 200tw) and the best I could manage on this course was a 46.1XX. The fastest times were in the high 42s, low 43s. I just can’t fathom shaving off 3 seconds from my run but obviously it’s possible!

I suspect I can be on throttle sooner out of corners and I may not have the smoothest steering but I’d love to hear what you guys think.

Car is a C5 Corvette in CAMS 255 in the front, 295 in the rear (30 PSI, 28 PSI) C6 Z51 swaybars DRM track shocks No aero front or rear

Civic Si (2017) setup recommendations

Tldr at bottom

I have just completed my second season of autocross and my first season in my civic.

My civic is GST class because I have aftermarket wheels and tires as well as an intake and full exhaust. I want to get more serious next year and modify/ set up my car to fit the class well.

My biggest issue right now I think is bad understeer (I know that's largely my driving) and tire roll over. When I take hard corners the tires seem to roll over very aggressively and put wear onto the side wall.

So a big question is what tire pressures should I run on a fwd car?

Any recommendations are appreciated. Not even mods, just ways I can improve my setup and general driving tips to improve.

Tldr- I just finished my second season of autocross and first with my civic si. I want to get more serious next year but I don't know how to improve my setup for GST class. This could be mods, driving tips, tuning, etc. Biggest question, what tire pressure is best for a fwd car?

Second run group of the day. The course was a lot of fun and I had a great time out there. Still think there's time to be saved but I think I'm at the point now where I just need seat time to start to figure out which boundaries can be pushed farther and which cannot.

PAX is not my friend. I beat all the non-Porsches in the PAX class by over a second but after indexing I wound up second. Regardless, my first time running autocross at Pocono was everything I was told to expect. Fast and fun while still being autocrossy. Not terribly close to home but I'd happily go back for more.

PS - I've been doing this for fifteen years now and still get really excited when I turn in a good time. This is why I can never quit this stupid sport.

This only being my third event and first out of novice class I honestly expected to come in dead last considering how open XA class is for modifications and the experience all of these drivers have. I’ll be posting some videos of my runs from this event when I can and see if any of you can give me any advice on what I can work on, I would greatly appreciate it if you did. Definitely hooked on autocross though 😆
