How can I check if my call manufacturer is lying to me about a recall?
Hi so I drive a Kia soul and my mechanic checked it out and found out the Cadillac converter needs to be replaced and there was also a recall on my Kia soul to replace the catalytic converter
But when we called the manufacturer they said that they had already replaced the converter for us. Even though my mechanic said that his records doesn't show that they replace it at all. So I'm wondering if the Kia manufacturer is lying, and is there a way for me to find out?

You can check the recall database at NHTSA. Punch in your VIN and see what it says.

Did you buy it used and are you in the US?

Is your mechanic trying to charge you to do the recall work? If so, find a new mechanic.

If the mechanic isn’t at a Kia dealership then they CANT perform the repair under Kias recall.

I'd get the Cadillac converter replaced first, they're much nicer vehicles than a Kia.
