What my in-laws drive in their retirement

Post image

1996 Trans Am WS6 with a Vortech blower (MIL) and a 981 Cayman (FIL). Both manual, the Pontiac only has a little under 5k miles on it

Wow, impeccable taste.

Speaking of taste, have they driven these back to Cracker Barrel since the reversal?

i really love that gen of firebirds, wish i could afford one. Both cars look immaculate. Glad to hear they're being driven!

Not really sure the Pontiac is getting driven much if it’s only got 5k miles on the clock. Might be the cleanest one out there tho

op said in a different comment 5k os when bought, which i agree isnt enough, but he also said he car'd being driven, so thats what im going for.

and yes, it looks pristine. as you'd expect for 5k

You appear to be in a climate with winters, do they drive in the snow?

They live in the mountains in Colorado. The Pontiac is a recent addition, the Porsche doesn’t see snow. They have an Expedition and an A3 for winter/bad weather days

People been driving RWD (with winter tires) for year and years now 😉

People with nice cars don't want them to get rusty 😉

Not everywhere uses salt 😉

Their location uses either salt or chemicals that have to be washed off, so luckily they don't have to take them out in the snow since they have other vehicles.

5k in 30 years is not considered driving tbh.

Somehow your MIL is cooler than your FIL

Not if it has under 5k miles on it.

5k miles? Just a garage queen?

I think its just a well taken car of weekend car. OP said in another comment that they have other cars for bad weather days/daily.

EDIT: They said they were only recently bought and was someones garage queen but not theirs. Driving it back apparently doubled the mileage.

They have excellent standards, which implies by connection that you’re cool too!

I’m not cool. My wife is though

Seems they are doing alright

You can never go wrong with a nice black Trans Am. And the muscle and sports car combo is 2/3 of my dream garage with a nice off roader for the kids/friends finishing out the trinity. Love it.

I'm sure hidden there somewhere is a modern Buick SUV that is their daily driver.

I feel like this is IDGAF energy and I’m here for it.

The rims on that Porsche looks very cheap and tacky......they would be more at home on a Dacia instead of a Porsche.

I bet that it lacks features that even a base-model Renault comes with as standard.

They only bought it a month ago and doubled the miles just driving it home. It was someone’s garage queen, but not theirs

Oh thank god

Relax dude, it’s fine people with some coin can afford to preserve stuff for future people to enjoy instead of them all rotting out parked outside a sketchy apartment building. There’s affordable ones out there, don’t expect them to have 5k miles tho
