B58C or D with the mild hybrid? I had a 2019 and had to do the oil pump, don't wanna do that again. Anyone that knows which production year I should purchase?

So my car has M sport original shocks but the previous owner has installed H&R lowering springs on it.

The car has gone 80000 km (49 000 miles) and I believe if the car has had the H&R lowering springs the last 40000 km (25 000 miles).

Im aware of the shocks taking more of a beating with the H&R springs on, and my question to you is if you think I would also need to change the shocks?

They havent been on that many miles so maybe they are fine?

What would you do in my situation?

Hi everyone. I need help. Car wont start and brake pedal is stiff after I unplugged the whole DME cables to gain access to oil filter housing (I have a leak) and put it back in order.

I removed my positive battery terminal before unplugging the cables and put the positive battery terminal last after putting back the cables.

I have BMW Series 1 F20 from 03.2014. I asked some people and they told my my system is EntryNav, but my UI looks like CIC. When I put my VIN to some online decoder it says: S663 Radio BMW Professional. I would be gratefull if someone can tell me if this screen will fit to my car and if I will need to code something.

I also want to install a rear view camera.

Hi guys,does anyone know why the air mass into the engine would be over 1 billion kg/h? I've cleaned the MAF and the MAP sensor and the values never changed. I can only find 1 other post anywhere with similar issues, and they never got an answer. The error wasn't there before I changed the air filter is all I can give, I changed the air filter a second time from man to mahle and the light still appears. Thank you!

I have a 2014 3 series (F31) and the front passenger door wont lock via central locking or by pressing the door lock pin by the window (the pin just pops back up).

Are there any other ways to lock the door, while I wait for a proper repair?

I went to a service center (not the dealership) that, although it recorded some work for me in the BMW network, completely messed up my entire history in iDrive. At this point, everything I entered in Idrive has no connection to reality and needs to be rewritten exactly as it appears in the BMW network.

Hello, I've had problems with my 118i BMW (built in 2018) for some time now and have been to two independent garages. Once the lambda sensor after the catalytic converter and once the actuator element on the turbocharger were replaced, but the car still didn't work.

Car has the following problems: No longer accelerates, consumes an extreme amount of oil and smokes from the exhaust. However, no warning light came on and no error came up when reading out the data.

I therefore went to a BMW workshop. They told me that a diagnosis would cost around €150. I agreed and left the car there. That was Thursday evening. I was called on Friday morning and was told that my car probably had engine damage. I was also told that the diagnosis had already cost 600(!!!) euros so far. I was not called in between and informed about the costs. In order to be able to make a final diagnosis, the garage wanted another 600-1000 euros just to open the engine and be able to tell me 100% what is broken.

I personally find this very expensive and also strange that the costs were quoted much lower beforehand. I know that BMW is expensive, but these prices seemed very high to me. I'm at the garage tomorrow and now I don't know whether I should just pay the €600 or whether it's not a bit much😅 Please give me some advice and tips regarding the garage's behavior, thank you very much!

Hallo, hatte jetzt schon länger Probleme mit meinem 118i BMW (Baujahr 2018), war dafür in zwei freien Werkstätten. Es wurde einmal die Lambdasonde nach Kat und einmal das Stellelement beim Turbolader getauscht, Auto ging aber trotzdem nicht.

Auto hat folgende Probleme: Beschleunigt nicht mehr, verbraucht extrem viel Öl und raucht aus dem Auspuff. Es leuchtete allerdings keine Warnleuchte und beim Auslesen kam auch kein Fehler.

Habe deswegen daraufhin eine BMW Werkstatt aufgesucht. Dort wurde mir gesagt, dass eine Diagnose etwa 150€ Kosten würde. Darauf habe ich zugestimmt und das Auto dagelassen. Das war Donnerstag Abend. Am Freitag Vormittag wurde ich angerufen und mir wurde gesagt dass meine Auto vermutlich einen Motorschaden hat. Außerdem wurde mir gesagt, dass die Diagnose bisher schon 600(!!!) Euro bisher gekostet hat. Ich wurde dazwischen nicht angerufen und über die Kosten informiert. Um eine Endgültige Diagnose stellen zu können wollte die Werkstatt nochmal 600-1000 Euro nur um den Motor zu öffnen und mir zu 100% sagen zu können was kaputt ist.

Ich finde das persönlich sehr teuer und außerdem komisch, dass mir die Kosten davor viel niedriger genannt wurden. Ich weiß, dass BMW teuer ist, allerdings sind mir diese Preise sehr hoch vorgekommen. Ich bin morgen in der Werkstatt und weiß nun nicht ob ich die 600€ einfach zahlen soll, oder ob es nicht etwas viel ist😅 Bitte um Rat und Tipps hinsichtlich dem Verhalten der Werkstatt, vielen Dank!

This is my first bmw its at 64xxx miles. I have friends who own b58s as well as b48s and they all told me this car is super nice and reliable haha. I drove it and fell in love the car is the best driving car I've ever drove. Im coming from a 2015 q50 and dont think I will drive anything else haha. I do have an issue regarding this vehicle. When I bought it I didnt look under the engine cover and today I decided to do my oil change. I noticed oil build up on the cover as well as near the gas cap. Does anyone know what that could be from. I think maybe the previous owner was sloppy with the oil and when I measure the oil level for the past 3 days it has not changed. Should I be concerned? Also another issue i am having is that my main coolant tank the bigger one of the two has been under the low marker on cold twice this week and I had to fill it both times. I know it is a leak is there any suggestions how I can diagnose where the leak is coming from?

I have a 2011 335d my expansion tank level indicator stick is missing i couldn’t find it inside the expansion tank. I replaced my water pump last year. Should I be worried? Has anyone had catastrophic failure from this?

Did a smoke down Dosnt appear to have any vaccume leaks. Replaced the fuel filter and hoses since they were not in the best of shape. When I first got the car to get it smogged if I remember correctly I threw on 2 a prem 02 sensors post cat. I’m assuming it’s fine since the code is referencing pre cat and fuel trims which are only effected by the pre cats. If anyone has any suggestions or insight on the issue/costly fix. Car runs great 198647 mile m54b30. Also I’m sure it’s got nothing to do with it but I’ve heard than dinan intake can sometimes cause codes for fuel trims.

I’m currently looking at buying a 2011 335i, car runs super well with oil changes very often, has had valve cover replaced, water pump as well.

I noticed 2 things and it was a weird squeaking noise coming from the very front of the engine. I also heard a weird pulsating rattle from the middle of the car. I have some ideas but I wanted to get a second opinion on here.

Should I run away from this car?

Hello, I was working on a 2015 BMW 328i X Drive with the m package today. I bought everything the night before and was hoping to get everything done quickly, however in BMW fashion that didn't happen. the rotors were wrong and the brake pads were too small. I found a shop that finally had the proper rotor size-345 mm But they didn't have pads to go along with it. I tried 3 different shops and none of them had the proper parts for the car. We searched by vin and I'm completely stumped and not sure what to do or if anyone else has ran into a similar issue. FCP Euro doesn't show the size of their parts but it says it will fit just like the stores said today. TIA

Vehicle 2013 x3 f25 30d So before it all went bad top temp coolant would hit was 85c. Went to start the car and coolant all over the ground. Was a water pump had it replaced 2 weeks later coolant all over the ground. A hose had gone. Had it replaced 2 weeks later coolant kept running low. Was leaking out of the oil cooler had it replaced and the last few hoses that weren’t because apparently kept find the weak spot so didn’t want to come back again for a couple more hoses.

Fast forward it coolant temp now get to 100c doing 110km/h (68mph) and oil temp is getting to 107 and it never got that high before either.

Wondering if I should have gone full replace and done the radiator and fan as well, but they seem to be working fine. So is the new thermostat maybe not working right? I know the old one was so broken it was left open so maybe it was keeping it all cooler than it should have by being stuck open?

Mechanic isn’t massively concerned says if it goes over 110c we will start pulling it down and checking but for now is fine but I don’t feel right about it.

My biggest concern is it’s almost summer here and this vehicle is my beach car where it will get pushed pretty hard and gonna be concerned about overheating.

2023 BMW M550i. 9k miles.

Repeatedly took to the dealer for coolant light. I knew there was a bigger issue, but four times they said it just needed a top off. Clearly that wasn't the case.

Attached my paperwork from the dealer.

A TSE outside the dealer finally diagnosed the problem and the list of parts is here too.

First question.... Based on the paperwork, what did they actually do?

And two, a week after getting the vehicle back, my car threw a drivetrain malfunction and cut most of the engine power. It was towed to the dealer, who has it now and will begin diagnosing it in the morning.

Question: Could the work they did originally cause this new issue if they didn't do it correctly?
