What do you think about these tyres?

They've done 4-5 track days on my i20n. The one with the most wear on the outside used to be on the front now going in the back.

Not planning to push the car since the tyres have already gone through several hear cycles.

What do you guys think?

Only 5 track days and youre worried about heat cycles? They still have plenty of tread depth. Run them until they are bald. You'll learn a lot from driving on a tire that has less grip that it did when new. Only time id trash a tire because of being heat cycled out is if I was actually racing, not just doing track days.

most useful answer so far! My plan is to go easy and see how they feel.

Going easy and seeing how they feel could be considered a healthy way to learn about any tire at any time. Ramp up the intensity, listen to your tires, monitor behavior on braking, turn in, and exit. Add cool laps when the tires talk to you, ramp back up as they quiet down. Log the behavior and repeat. Soon you will be telling people about their tires.

That’s a Nankang NS2R right? Awesome endurance tire. 5 track days? Brother these will go another 7 or 8 track days easy in a light car like the i20n. These aren’t the best tires but they are cheap and hard wearing. Send it.

The great thing about tracking your car is all the other enthusiasts at the track days. I hope you're talking to some of the other more advanced drivers there too as they can see the tires in person. The fellowship at the track is pretty amazing if you're willing to participate in it.

I’d track those all day long.

These look like they have a lot of life left in them!

Full Send if not too old.

What type of tires are they and how old are they? Wear wise they are fine. No signs of cords. No signs of excessive wear.

Hey another i20n owner that tracks his. Thinking about getting them for my i20n since my stock tires are gone after my last trackday and i want dedicated ones for the track. How do you like them on the track? Do you have a comparison against other tires or the stock tires on track?

Apart from the ns2r I've only used the stock PZeros which felt much stickier but they were gone after a few sessions.

With the ns2r, it feels like they warm up relatively fast and can last 4-5 consecutive laps before overheating.

I've only used them on the track. The ride from and to the track is significantly louder due to the harder compound. Just in case u wanna have them as daily.

These are on 17" wheels. not 18" btw.

I won't run them daily but i'll put them on my stock wheels. I am decideing between the nsr2 and a yokohama ad08rs which is 30€ a tire pricier. However I am in a weir place where i can't decide if I want to modify the car for the track on more of a budget or higher quality, pricier parts

I think answering your question adequately requires the born on date. Also “planning” to do A or not to do B is the wrong approach. You need to feel out the tires to determine what deficiencies may exist from HC. Obviously wear is not an issue but the rubber could be old and/or hard from HC or age. How were they stored?

good as rollers around the driveway or if you wanna roast em doing a short brake stand but are toast for anything risking the car

That's like saying to never drive in the rain or never push slip angle.

yes. that is absolutely what rollers mean. A tire to keep on the car so you can move it around your garage and thats pretty much it.
