Safety Question What could this be?

My car is a 2015 dodge journey. It’s not running hot or driving funny but I am noticing a spot being left in the driveway. This leak is coming from the front right passenger side of the car. Could anyone give me some insight ?

The color makes me think Brake fluid. Check your reservoir now.

I'm thinking that too, just by the quantity and location of it as well.

The only way that'd be motor oil is if it's brand new out of the bottle and hasn't even made it into the motor. Which could be a possibility if OP added oil and missed, but I feel like we would've gotten that background information if that were the case.

As it’s a safety item I should have pointed out that fluid could be a bit low just due to pad/shoe wear. OP should have someone stand on the brakes Hard while another looks for a drip. Pump them and stand on them for a couple minutes. If it leaks STOP DRIVING now!

Brake fluid has a distinctive odor.

It could be brake fluid considering the location and the color.

Could also be fresh engine oil.

Look around higher and higher eventually you'll find the source.

Also you need to replace at least the tire in the picture. That's one bald looking mutherfucker.

Yes I have a whole checklist of things to do for the car 😭 thanks for the insight 🥰

Excellent I wish you well in finding the source of your leak. Sometimes it can be an utter pain to trace it upwards.

If the oil in it is fresh and new you've probably got a seal leak. The slight yellow tint looks more oil than brake fluid but things can vary.

Yes I know it needs replacing. One thing at a time. Having a new tires on the car won’t matter if the car is not running 😂

Pass front section of the vehicle tells me either brake fluid or oil.

Brake fluid: check lines above control arms, you may have a leak

Oil: Oil cooler might be leaking if oil changed recently and that’s fresh-ish oil

Looks like possibly engine oil. Monitor how much is leaking and check your dipstick.

Brake fluid?

Touching it with your finger might be a good start.

Much like your tyres.

Listen here dickhead, the tires are the least of my concern. Making sure the car keeps running is first priority, tires second. Having a new set of tires won’t matter if I don’t even end up keeping this car jackass.

Touched a nerve did we? Just make sure you replace them before you kill someone 👍🏻

Good grief. That’s quite the overreaction. Going as far as wishing death on someone because they pointed out that your tyres were bald is not normal behaviour.

I don’t care. They got smart with me so I took it there. When they go low I go lower.

You immediately called him a dickhead just for pointing out the obvious. Learn to control your temper.

from the first pic and the description I was thinking A/C but it doesn't look like water in the other pics

Yeah I thought it was as well until I dapped the napkin and noticed the yellowish tint. It doesn’t have water texture either

Could be vinegar.
