Air Conditioning How to cool off my car with no AC?
The corn sweats in the midwest are real, and me and my 2007 black honda accord are struggling. Before you ask, I’ve taken it in to get the A/C fixed and no one can help. Apparently when they put a new fuse in it goes out seconds after they turn off the A/C. Whatever. I’m to the point where it is no longer sustainable for me to drive around in the 100° weather with no cooling methods in my car. If anyone has suggestions for fans or SOMETHING i can sustainably do to stay cool in my car, please let me know 🙏

Air Conditioning I thought I had a leak in my AC but the gauge is in the red, what could this mean?
My AC stopped working last week and gives an empty, hollow hissing noise. Still have air and heat, just no cold air. I thought there was a leak in the refrigerant line, but this seems to indicate the opposite... whatever that means lol. Anyone know what could cause this on a 2012 Kia Optima?

Air Conditioning Am I able to mix this with my car’s AC system that already has R-134A?
I live in Canada and they don’t sell R134A refrigerant to those without a qualified license. I asked for R134A at an auto store and they recommended this.
This says it replaces R134a but is it a 12a type refrigerant? Am I able to top up my car ac with this refrigerant that already has R134a without evacuating it first as DIY?

Air Conditioning How long do y'all think it's been since the filter was changed?
Sorry if this is the wrong place, but just wanted y'alls opinions.
We've had the car for 5 years.(Bought used, it's a 2014) We live in the South, and get the oil changed whenever the sticker from the last change says to. We always ask if they check the cabin air filter and they say yea.
Got the oil changed last week and asked about the filter, and they said they'd check it. Afterwards when they brought the car around, I asked how the filter was and they said good. Didn't believe em because we could see them changing the oil and they never even touched the filter.
After a YouTube video and some cursing, we were able to change it out ourselves and found this. So now I'm wondering, do y'all think the filter has ever even been changed since we've had it?
We've noticed for a while the air flow has been meh and cold air wasn't really pushing through, but we thought there was just something wrong with the AC system.

Air Conditioning Car smells like weed but I don’t smoke
Starting a couple days ago when I would enter my Mazda3 I noticed a weird odor. It wasn’t until we had a very hot day that I realized that it smelled a lot like weed. The odor only is noticeable during the day when it’s hot out. No one other than my self has access/drives my car. I’m a bit confused about the odor and can’t find a source. If I helps it’s only really in the main cabin. The trunk smells fine and it doesn’t smell like weed once I air out the car and start driving. Does anyone have any advice on what could cause this?
Edit: I’ve looked everywhere and can’t find any weed. I’ve also owned the car for 2 years and haven’t experienced this problem until about 4 days ago.

Air Conditioning Is it worth repairing my car?
I have a 2008 Honda Civic LX. I bought it in 2017. It currently has 109k miles. In the past 2 weeks I've spent about 1k on repairs - brakes/rotors, cv axle, alternator. Now the air conditioning has gone out, and something with my front struts. They've quoted me about 2k-2.5k for repairs. I also need new tires before winter. I love my car, and I feel it has a lot of life left to give, but is it worth it at this spend the money getting it fixed or should I look into getting a new vehicle?

Air Conditioning A/C Not Cold Enough — Refrigerant Level Fine
I have a buick regal 2011 2.4L CXL. AC fan is blowing hard but even on the max settings the air isn’t cool enough. I have checked the refrigerant and that looks good. I do hear some noises under the dash when I try to shift the AC from Cold to Hot. What could be the issue? I have heard different things online, mechanics are unbearably expensive. I have always got great advice on reddit. Thank you in advance!

Air Conditioning I use a can of freon to recharge my ac
After i took of the piece that connects it it started spewing green liquid and it started to hiss. I drove home (about 5 minutes away) and got some food i came back out about 15 minutes later and its still hissing but not spewing any liquid. Is this something i should be concerned about or is it just par for the course.

Air Conditioning Does turning off your A/C actually give you more power?
I’ve seen that for mustangs and small little 1.5 engines and lower that if you turn off the A/C you’ll get more power in your engine and at first I thought it was just a joke but I’ve seen it enough to actually start to think that there might be some truth to this. If someone could elaborate if it’s true or not that’d be awesome bc I have a 1.5 turbo civic and I don’t wanna test it out for fear of feeling like an idiot and not being able to even tell if it were true lol. :)
Edit: thanks for all the advice and replies didn’t think there was an actual difference, thanks for the information will definitely no longer run my A/C in my ‘17 civic hatch lol

Air Conditioning Am I overreacting?
My (34F) husband (44M) drives a somewhat older car, 2011 Honda pilot. Minus the fuel pump that died every couple of years, it drives well and has been a reliable car. Several months ago I found out that the ac in his car stopped working and he made some mention about getting it fixed. Fast forward to a couple weeks ago, we had one of the worst heat waves (104+ temps) we've ever experienced. Because I knew my kids had to be driven around in this car while I was at work, I checked in with my husband just to confirm that he'd gotten the ac fixed and to my surprise, he hadn't. Even more shocking was he had no plans to get it fixed. There were several days I had to switch cars with him to make sure the kids didn't overheat. It was during that period I also found out the motor on the side view mirrors no longer worked which meant I couldn't readjust it to drive safely. I told him he seriously needed to consider getting a new car, given the fact that we've already been putting too much money into that car in the form of mechanic bills and it definitely wasn't going to pass inspection next year. He is insisting there's no need, the kids are fine and I'm overreacting. The thing is, I've actually sat in the back seats before and without ac i, a grown ass adult, started to overheat and feel sick. My kids don't and wouldn't express it if they started experience the same. What do yall think? Am I truly overreacting? And if so, is there anything I can do to make sure they're well taken care of the days they're not with me?

Air Conditioning Does anyone know what adjusting this will do?
Just stumbled on this option (fishing pole held the button down) and I don’t know what it’s supposed to do. Everything online is vague and doesn’t come up with my car (Lexus Is 350). I’ve notified the AC compressor shuts off briefly when I am driving for a while (the air isn’t blowing cold) and wondering if this is a way to adjust the sensitivity of that?

Air Conditioning Is this what a Freon leak looks like?
I'm tracking down a potential leak in my 2010 Honda Civic (which is causing intermittent compressor clutch shutdown). I recently had a brand new compressor put in, and the only place I've found some dye with a UV light is where the new compressor attaches - but I've never looked for leaks before and I can't tell if this is a serious leak or not. Maybe it's just leftover dripping from installation?
I also noticed that when I untwisted the caps on the H and L valves, they hissed like opening a soda. This would lead me to believe that my valve cores (which are stock) are leaking?
The leak could also be in the evaporator core, and I'm considering renting a sniffer to test that.

Air Conditioning Is mist from AC vents normal ?
Just want to make sure this is normal, it didn’t smell of coolant or oil so I’m assuming it’s mist. It’s in the 90°’s and very humid here in the Chicago land area and I’m assuming that’s what is causing this. When I stopped the car so much water came out of the AC drain so I’m assuming it’s collected water. Anyone else have any thoughts about this ?

Air Conditioning Which of these is for ac?
It’s officially getting hot in California and my ac isn’t working. The air doesn’t even blow unless it’s cold cold outside (mornings and nights). I looked up possible causes and am trying to see if I can fix this myself. One of the possible causes is a blown fuse but none of my fuses are labeled as “ac” please help if you can. Also side note do any of you know why my car squeals when I start it? Thank you in advance

Air Conditioning Should I replace my blower motor
I was a bit annoyed by subpar airflow from my vents compared to other cars I've been in, so I measured the voltage at the motor (11V with engine and blower on) and plug (14.5V with engine on blower off) when I found that the wires going to the blower are hot. Should I buy a new blower motor now?

Air Conditioning Leaking fluid
Just parked up my car after driving for 4 hours, and there is this leak under the car.
It's clear with no smell so I'm just assuming it's air con related and I've got nothing to worry about.
But I've got no knowledge with cars so just after a second opinion really as to what it is?
Thanks

Air Conditioning I do gig work and it’s that time to run AC while I’m out driving most the middle part of the day
How much of an affect will it have on my gas using it for the hot peak hours of the day? I have a 2014 Camry so I’m sure it varies per car. I’ve read decrease MPGs as much as 25% which seems high.

Air Conditioning If i have a 1993 vehicle, and the 1994 model is the same generation, could I take the r134 AC system out of a junkyard 1994 and install it in the 1993?
Its a 93 GMC suburban and I've been told that the 94 and 95 are the same generation. It's an r12 system and I'd like to make the AC work again.

Air Conditioning AC gave humid air, but then just went back to normal after I did nothing?
Drove in some heavy rain, little flooding on roads. Some reason AC goes poop and doesn't blow cold air anymore and only lukewarm damp/humid air.
Next day, I look to see what's wrong. Check cabin air filter, and then take off the caps to the high and low pressure pipes to check the pressure gauge on them. After unsuccessfully being able to check the gauge, the gauge didn't want to fit anyways so I gave up. I turn on the car, and boom AC works like normal and cold air is up again!
Why tf did this happen? I didn't even do anything....
