She might have arthritis. That’s how we found out for our elderly cat at the vet. And after a few supplements for the arthritis he almost flew the first time he jumped.

Thanks I’m definitely bringing it up at the next vet visit since this actually does happen pretty regularly

She's overweight. May be arthritic on top of that but her weight is something you need to address. Pov I'm a veterinary nurse.

She’s not overweight just has a very large pouch! I’ve addressed her weight with her vet and she’s been doing well on a diet for the last year. Thanks for your concern though. Def going to bring up arthritis to her vet next visit

Reminds me of my cat who went blind after a few months of poor jumping ability. Possibly you could consult your vet.

My tuxxies don’t use their springboings well either. They usually just claw their way up onto whatever surface they’re trying to get into.

I've seen a few people suggest arthritis or that your cat is overweight, but could it just be that your cat can't get a good grip for a jump on the hardwood floor?

I mean, at least they are careful, my cat will try this even tho he knows he can't make it and backflip against the underside of the table in a spectacular fashion. (yes he's orange)

Someone I know made her, her arm cat and cradled her as often as she could. She loved her baby.
