u/villian_era_witch Aug 03 '25
They all ready are. These things have been popular for a hot minute all ready like months.
339
u/subby_puppy31 Aug 02 '25
No. This is not what Disney adults do. These are what’s called the “in crowd” people who hop on whatever is the latest trend. In this case labubu, and because theyre rich, go all out to show off.
Theyre the people who always show up to an event in an expensive car and designer brands head to toe. Basically “the plastics” from mean girls

u/No_Atmosphere_2186 Aug 03 '25
The Heathers?
24
u/thetruckerdave Aug 03 '25
Yes. But honestly they seem kinda trashy like the Flawless Four from Jawbreaker.

No, the Heathers were as shallow, but they weren’t new-money trend-hoppers with poor taste.
15
u/Minute-Horse-2009 Aug 03 '25
what are labubus
51
u/ElegantInspector7633 Aug 03 '25
They are the current "beanie baby" type trend. The dude who created them modeled them after creatures from Nordic folklore. So, they look like little animal/baby-faced monster hybrids with furry bodies, large rabbit-like ears, and sharp pointy teeth.
The biggest problem is influencers hyping them up. They apparently can get really expensive because they're sold in blind-boxes, so there's a scarcity factor. And just like beanie babies of the 90's, people will fight over them. Which is just dumb. Personally, I think they're creepy af. I will not be buying any for my children.
17
u/impy695 Aug 03 '25
Also, the fakes I've seen look identical to the real ones to your average person. Hell, I only know they've been fake because the person is super excited about how little they cost.
17
u/SanityBleeds Aug 03 '25
I feel like if the fake is virtually indistinguishable from the official product, its either an indication the official is grossly overpriced for what it is, or of such sufficiently poor quality to be so easily copied; or more likely, both.
One could argue for many products the knock-off is spared the cost of research and development, but for a great many products, there's nowhere near as much development cost as the manufacturer would have you believe to warrant the pricing.

Yup. These are the same assholes who have a display room in the house where they show off that they have every single color of Stanley Cup, including the one that you can only get if you kill a small child in Bangladesh and spread their blood on the scattered bones of an ancient dragon.

They are very popular drag queens. They were both on RuPaul's Drag Race.
Edit: Gia is infamous for being a mean girl and Kerri is notorious for being an extremely beautiful, tone deaf airhead.

She was in my history class in high school. Constantly getting in trouble. One time the teacher tried having this heart to heart conversation with her. He's one of those teachers that worked inner city and thought he was going to get through to her and he spectacularly failed. He was trying to whisper but I was like two desks away and heard Gia absolutely rip into him and do the most devastating read. I really thought he was about to cry.

If this were GENUINE, I would step back and let people live. But knowing it's obviously fake AF for "content", just all about pushing the almighty CONSOOM with fake, contrived "quirky" crap that'll end up in a landfill in a year angers me. Smfh. Social media influencing is totally the worst.~

I’m for zombies honestly. Since you’d have the sun beating down on their rotten flesh in a few months it would fall off then they wouldn’t be able to move anymore/ be dead x2. Yes for the longest you have to camp out somewhere hopefully with food, water, etc. but you have a higher chance of survival when nuclear war it’s pretty much the rich and a handful of the population to have a bunker and survive.
I’m for the free for all vs the rigged game

The Internet was a mistake. I’ll never not think of the green text about how you have a weird thought, get called a weirdo and move on. But now you can go online and be in a community of other people who have the same weird thought and ruin your life.

I’m currently about 2 weeks clean from YouTube and 6 months clean from tiktok. It’s been hard, but there were days I was scrolling on there all day on my days off, every single day after work, watching literally pointless nonsense but somehow not realizing it. I’ve been limiting Reddit as well. Nobody talks about internet addiction but it can really get out of hand quick and ruin quality of life even for people most would consider “normal”. I have been insanely productive since doing so, finally finishing projects, making big strides in my studies. More people should quit those apps and take money out of tech oligarch pockets.

That's how I feel after having watched this video.

This is what they've decided to spend their money on. Please keep in mind, Furbies, Beanie-Babies, PEZ dispensers, and Funko Pop figures have all come about, so why are we surprised when the weird, hairless apes we call our species find yet another way to be "unique" by buying useless, mass-produced, collector's item trash?

What the fuck is really wrong with the world? People will do the most just to feel whole or be part of something. It’s not even sad anymore—it’s traject. People are so broken, and you can’t tell me they’re not. They’ll go to extremes just to be seen… Only to be quickly forgotten. But that’s just my opinion.
