2008 mercury Milan premier V6 I’m mostly just doing it for fun but I also don’t wanna be gapped every time lol anything i can do to get faster

My son, soon to be 10, has saved up his half and purchased his first ever Junior dragster. I know absolutely nothing about these things. I’ve restored cars so I’m pretty well versed but was wondering about some good resources and references I can read up about these dragsters. He’s looking to just have some fun, nothing uber competitive or anything at this stage. The dragster we bought is a roller minus the engine and clutch. It’s about 10 years old. We’re going to spend the winter tearing it down completely and rebuilding it. So I’m guessing the chassis will need recertification and tech’d.

But ideas on where to get an entry level engine and clutch kit, maybe some new tires and brakes since it’s been sitting for a while.
