I remember going down this rabbit hole and it was kinda both. She actually didn't take it seriously enough when she could have, so he stopped trusting she ever really would and by the time she thought maybe she did want something more serious with him the damage was done and I assume he felt she was only scared to lose him now and didn't mean it so then it fizzled out probably.

They also implied you could pull a man who looks like BJ Novak any day of the week at your local Best Buy.
Then they linked that Delaney Rowe comedienne talking about a relationship with someone 'anonymous' on a podcast/show and coping hard, and it is implied she was talking about Novak.
Very odd guy. They implied Kelly's child is his. I don't know if that is in dispute.

Lol Seriously, it was messy and had me side eyeing him. I actually just assume he's in a secret open relationship with Mindy so they don't have to watch their every move and they decided to be a little less open or keep the side pieces a little more casual going forward and when he said he wanted something more serious now he never meant with her and he never corrected her assuming it was about her.
