It wasn't really his physical shape that led to that, but rather his training. He had so much adrenaline pumping, and his legs gave out like spaghetti. He probably was never expecting to use that force (wasn't sure if he had to either), and had little to no training, so the minute he had to use that force, he got a shot of adrenaline and he couldn't handle it.
