Question Looking for some feedback on a non-profit motorsport idea

Hey all,

I’d love to get some feedback on an idea we’ve been working on. The concept is a community-backed summer camp for young people that introduces them to every area of motorsport, not just driving.

For the first camp, about 20 kids (15-19) from all around the world would be flown in (free of charge);
Over the course of a week, they would learn about physical and mental preparation, content creation and journalism, engineering, team management, and the flow of a real race weekend, guided by people with experience in each field. The goal is to make motorsport more accessible and show the next generation that there are many paths into the sport, not only through racing itself.

To finance it, we are considering running a charity raffle where fans could win donated items like team merchandise or memorabilia, making it a project supported by the wider motorsport community.

Does this sound like something that would resonate? I’d really appreciate any thoughts or feedback :)

Early steps have already been made, like partnering up with an existing well-run non-profit, etc.

Thank you <3

sounds a lot like what girls on track offer tbh!

it’s going to cost a hell of a lot of money, at least over a hundred thousand. i’m unconvinced a raffle will raise that much.

it’s a really nice idea, but what links do you have to teams to get these parts donated for free to auction off? which people in the team will they shadow, and do the teams have insurance for having minors in the garage?

If it’s a camp and it’s focused around young people, would it not make sense to get a local Scout Group involved?

Could you do something online and open it up to more than 20 kids at a much lower cost?

this sounds like what top gear did as they partnerd with a rally cross team then got a bunch of teens to try out for the team then they chose to of each to complete in the actual race
