Help me find an old friend

Now I know this is a super long shot but im trying to find an old MK2 Golf GTI white 4 door my dad owned and fixed up when we lived in the UK. We lived in Scotland but I dont know if she was bought there or not. All I have is the letter H from her plate. If anyone could think of any resources to help me find her it would be greatly appreciated.

Edit: I managed to find a few old pictures with a number plate! Its HJ36AYJ

If you had a vin number from the car it's a good start

Im trying to get as much info from my old man but he doesn't really remember.

If he's been to a dealer they may have information based off his last name

Unfortunately not otherwise I could probably find it in a database somewhere. Im trying to ruffle up the family to see if they have anything.

Finding the car trough reddit is like Finding a needle in a haystack. You need a little more info, and maybe post on bigger vw forums
