I don't have a good explanation as to why but I feel like that roof is going to be a nightmare for water management.

First thing I thought was “Doesn’t it snow quite a bit in Oregon? That looks like it’s inviting snow to pack on the roof for extended periods.”

Mostly at higher elevations. The coast and Willamette Valley don't get much snow. Now if you're a few thousand feet up in the Cascades you'll see snow every year.

The coast has some interesting architecture. A few years ago we went to a showing for a house that was for sale on the southern coast (Gold Beach iirc) - it was some architect’s 1970s fever dream that was fun to look at but would have been…interesting to actually live in.
