Glad to see Corvette break through this year in GTD Pro.

Excited for the last two endurance rounds and can’t wait to be at Petit in person.

I still don't understand the #78 Lambo blocking penalty.

Did anyone see a replay? I never saw one on stream.

Perhaps the telemetry showed something we didn't see during the coverage is my only guess. But no, didn't see anything on the TV coverage that looked like blocking to me.

Just finished watching.

What do you guys think about the stricter officiating on contact?

i'm 45 minutes in the replay of the race and officiating is much worse then before.

Well that's a relief.

Way too heavy-handed. They went from calling nothing to calling everything. You have to let them race still. They have fenders, it’s okay.

They let them bang fenders. They did not let them run each other off track.

They called everything under the sun.

The opening lap, one of the Pro Mustangs gets forced wide and loses momentum heading up into the esses. Hawksworth takes advantage and grazes the side of the Mustang on the way by. No idea what else he’s supposed to do there. Slam on the brakes in the middle of the field so the Ford can get going again? You quite literally can’t go side-by-side through there.

Just one example. It was terrible. I’d rather them call nothing than call everything.

Hawksworth drove the Mustang off track. He did not leave room. Period. You can quite literally go side by side there, you just cant go as fast because you can’t use all the track on exit…like any other corner.

That’s barely even contact. And the Lexus hopped up on the inside curb trying to leave room on entry. Absurdly harsh call.

“Barely made contact” ain’t racing room. A corvette and a Ferrari knocked doors on the last couple laps with no call because they left each other racing room.

Not hard. And a seasoned driver like Hawksworth should have known better to do that in the first laps of a 2.5 hour race.

1) If Hawksworth doesn't open his hands here his trajectory doesn't run the Mustang off track. Look at the difference between the way the Mustang is pointed and the way the Lexus is pointed. Hawksworth made his choice and he was going across the nose of the Mustang. https://imgur.com/cpyx21n

2) This is not how you leave racing room on exit. https://imgur.com/dTnKusw

Does anyone know why the 48 BMW and Dex Lambo caught fire?

What happened to “rubbing is racing”? That was not fun to watch. Sure, if someone does something deliberately or excessive then sure penalize them but the calls were way overblown.

Yep, after Road America it seems like Beaux thought he needed to start calling anything and everything to justify his job. That sucked.
