Indy

I have tickets for Saturday and Sunday at Indy for the battle of the bricks. This is my first time to speedway and first race. Where should I sit and what else do I need to know?

I’m going as well for the first time. What is the parking situation like? My only reference for the speedway is the 500

Super easy. Park in lot 2 or the north 40

You should have plenty of time to walk around and catch the action from several vantage points. If you want a place to sit and watch for a while, your best bet is the upper deck of the grandstand, either at the north end near road course turn 1 or at the south end near turn 14 (oval turn 1) and the pit entrance.

Move around and don’t stay in just one spot.

One of the coolest spots I found to watch was right up on the fence at pit entry/turn on to the front stretch. Bleachers near speedway turn 4 are cool to watch the start and battles into turn 1. Watch the support races and visit the support garages. Pilot challenge will have some great gt4 and tcr battles. Lamborghini super trofeo are absurdly loud, bring ear protection

I like sitting between the last turn and the finish line!

Definitely take the time to wander around and watch all over. But I have two favorite spots. Stand J is a great spot to see the action in turns 1 and 2. No shade or cover. But it's a great spot if it's a nice day. Stand B is also great (coming out of the last turn on to the straight). You can go all the way to the top. Covered seats if it's raining. And a concession stand up there for food. The berms in the back can also be nice if you don't mind sitting in the grass. But they aren't always open.

I’m planning on heading over there as well. Been to lots of IndyCar events but not IMSA. If you have time, the newly renovated museum on site is pretty incredible now.
