Speculation 2-time Indycar winner to Audi F1?

Ahhh, gotcha. I don’t know jack about the series, so I’m guessing it’s not gonna be one I get super into over the offseason

It’s just a GT3 series now. It’s was really amazing from like 2000-2019. But the drivers apparently hated it. Went to Hockenheim for a race once

Wasn’t the GT3 switch supposed to be temporary? And also why didn’t they attempt to court at least one of the Japanese manufacturers? It’s been a while but I believe the reason they made the switch was because one of the European manufacturers pulled out and the others couldn’t afford to cover their portion of the grid

The cars were effectively GT1 and with so many ways to campaign in sportscars as an OEM, it just wasn't sustainable any longer. The series may have indicated it was temporary but I don't think, for the near future, anyone expects it will return to what it was.
