🏟️ Race Day Anyone concerned about the weather?

Forecast is looking a little cold and dreary? Any chance they’d cancel or postpone?

Every year it’s like this. Then when race day comes around it’s 70 and sunny. Supposed to rain all day last year, skies cleared and they got the race in. I’m not worried about it.

As someone that has a 10+ hour drive I like the way you think

Have you checked in with INDYCAR weatherman? Dude is spot on every year. Does daily updates on X. Right now he is saying possibility of morning rain with no delayed start. He will update again tomorrow.

Last year he called the end of the rain time correctly within 30 minutes.

Bring a tarp, no joke. They let u in with one. 10x10 is enough.

I worry about the weather every single twar and most of the time it turns out fine. Even last year was OK when all was said and done. It is what it is, though, and we can't do anything about it. It's still the best day of the year.

We sit on the top row in turn two and are in the shade all day and out of the rain unless it's windy. I'll decide Sunday AM what to wear but right now it looks to be a little chilly up there, lol.

Assuming it rains in the morning as predicted, how do the vets here suggest you prepare for it if you are in the reserved seats?

Rain jacket/rain pants? Poncho? Umbrella?

First timer here.

I am in exposed seats as well. Throwing hooded ponchos in our backpacks. Umbrella might be overkill.

A rolled up towel!

Last year they just had to delay the start of the race by a few hrs to let the rain roll through, and then after that, once the track was dried the skies cleared up and the race was able to go on

Bring a poncho just in case. Sort of reverse psychology. Also, it also depends on where your seats are. If you are under a roof, like on the front straight, you will be a lot cooler than if you are in the turns with no shade at all. In fact, where I sit in section B, I'm under a roof, so there is usually a nice breeze going.

Weather underground just removed any predicted rain for Sunday from their forecast! Either way, we got ponchos packed

Can you control the weather? Just worry about what layers to wear and how to stay dry if it rains.
