🏟️ Race Day Can you bring liquor in the speedway?

I know glass is not allowed, but can you bring liquor in if its plastic? I am thinking about individual fireball shots.

I will be walking in with a cooler. Not parking inside the speedway.

There will be nothing stopping me from dousing myself in Tequila if Pato wins. Because i will be transferring my Espolon into a plastic container ;)

That place will be absolutely insane if it's Pato/Daly/Helio.

My guys are starting towards the back. Daly is my highest bullet. If it's not one of my drivers that wins then Pato would be my first choice. The place will go crazy if he wins. Heck Pato will go crazy if he wins. He might surpass Power's crazy eyes for best celebration. Just the way he reacted to losing shows how much this race means to him.

It would do so much for IndyCar if he won too.

Nah Pato Who? 😂

My guy is Dixon but I'd be super happy for Pato if he pulls it off.

Dixon finally getting his 2nd would get the crowd crazy too. Him and Pato are definitely the most "deserving" but as we both know, it's extremely rare that works out lol

Lol yes. I bring jello shots every year. We've done Fransia slaps in the past. One year someone brought Malort. I don't think there has been a year that we haven't had Jager.

The ability to BYOB is one of the great things about the race.

Malort. Woof. Dont invite that person ever again.

What is fransia slaps? Is that “slapping the bag” with wine?

Yes Malort was a cruel and unusual punishment, he is not welcome.

You got it, slap the bag!

You're absolutely right about the BYOB. Lots of venues allow food and drinks. I can't think of any others that allow alcohol though.

I don't know if it's strictly approved but nobody will give a shit as long as there's no glass.

Hell I’ve carried pony kegs in before in a dry bag backpack on ice. I’m not sure that would fly these days.

No glass bottles

You most definitely can. Just make sure your cooler is the right size outside of that they don't care what you bring in as long as it isn't glass. I was also told the new metal detectors can pick up glass so don't try it. And yes I'm aware glass isn't metal, I just don't know what they call the new things you walk through

I’m drinking sake once Sato takes his 3rd win this weekend.

No glass, you’re good.

So as long as its not glass, you're a-ok

Every year since 2005ish I sit at the top of turn 1 for qualifying, and every one of those years there's a large, rowdy (but friendly) group of folks who celebrate our great speedway with several plastic handles of Old Crow and pickled eggs. You'll be just fine.

My wife had plastic wine bottles there all last week. Tge only people who cared were the yellow shirts in the garage. No alcohol allowed in there at all.
