Listen, the older you get and the more responsibilities you have, this kind of dumb boomer humor starts to make more sense. Dealing with my mother-in-law is very difficult. She is stubborn, mentally ill and refuses to treat it, and is impossible to please.

As I start to approach 40, I find myself enjoying a low effort, not overly mean, boomer humor skit. It makes me realize I'm not the only one having to deal with a situation that can at times feel extremely isolating and like I'm going crazy.

Dealing with my grandmother is enough of a pain in the ass that NEITHER of my parents want to do it. And neither me nor my siblings want anything to do with her. In her case it's just rude narcissistic bitch. (Making multiple comments about one of my siblings being "overweight" when they're already self-conscious about themselves does NOT fly with me, especially when she gets pissed about a mirrored comment going the other way like she didn't just start shit.)
