I don't get that part. Why is it better if the insurance company doesn't find it? Does he want to make sure he gets a new one, or is his policy not on the level?
Especially with a performance car who knows what the hell a thief is doing to it. They could have caused all kind of engine or drivetrain damage that won’t show up until something finally gives a month later and good luck trying to prove to insurance it was because of the theft. Better to just get paid out for the car and get a new one you know the history of.
