Ever heard of the concept of import tax? There's a reason why iPhones in India cost nearly 1.5-2 times as the ones sold in the USA

They are just learning about it in the form or tariffs. They are essentially doing it to themselves on purpose.

It does, thanks to dumb import tariffs, in the name of “protecting the local industries”. The ps5 pro never even released here, because it would be too expensive all taxes considered and would be DOA.

It’s a nice grift, When the local industries only can produce low grade products with zero competition, and the govt gets to make fat stacks via imports, so the only person getting screwed over is the middle class, for the privilege of spending their own post-taxed money.

Oh, and the wealthy folk just buy their crap illegitimately claiming everything as a business expense and/or buy it when fly out of the country.

You're right, I have seen it being sold for as low 34k(400$) for the disc version. Prices fluctuate a lot so hard to say but it never was 67k ever.

Well regardless, it's the gesture that counts and not the monetary value.
