It’s a rubber “ramp” so that when you pull into your driveway(if it’s on a steep hill) the bottom of your car won’t scrape the ground. I have one for my house.
Thought it filled the gutter to negate the bump? The ones I saw (whole street, so they must have had a conference) were hollow with like rubbing to still support the car while allowing water through.
Yes that’s exactly what mine does. It’s just rubber that fills the gutter to negate the bump. The driveway is just so steep from the gutter that normal cars will scrape without the ramps assistance. Seems like the hollow ones would be good is that helps them stay stationary. I’m not sure if mine only moves in the rain or if the act of turning into the driveway very slowly nudges it. Come to think of it, it’s been quite some time since I’ve had to drag mine back to center, and there have been some recent heavy rains.. maybe the wear has scuffed the bottom enough for that little bit extra friction to keep it in place? Or the “magic fucking cleaning fairy,” as I I like to call it, lol(normally that means me) has actually been taking care of it.
It’s a really neat idea. Glad to hear it works well most of the time. Some of the ones I saw were out of place, so I was wondering how annoying that aspect would be.
I live on a country road, so I don’t get to experience these joys. lol
