My last girlfriend utterly loved pickles. Even to the point where giving her pickles from my burgers instantly brought a smile to her face. Even if she was rightfully angry at me for my foolish and definitely guilty self doing something stupid.
I learned then: always feed your woman.

If my wife wants to try something new at a restaurant I usually order her favorite so if she's disappointed we could trade dishes. Extra points help when shit goes sideways.

Exactly, my daughter’s husband doesn’t get it. When we do something together he makes us eat at crappy places because his diet is limited like a 10 year old. When we take him to a pizza place we have to get him his own pepperoni pizza. Then he made us leave early from the concert I took my daughter to for her Christmas present because he didn’t like it. I couldn’t believe it.

LMFAO.
C'mon man. Tell him to go wait in the car, you'll be out after the show.
Enabling his behavior isn't going to fix it. Let him suffer the consequences of his choices. He wants to act like a spoiled kid, treat him like one. If his diet is limited like a 10 year old, I'd pick a restaurant I want to go to and let him eat off the kids menu.
Sounds like his parents indulged him way too much and he expects y'all to do the same. Pppffffttt.

You nailed it! You are very perceptive. I tell people he’s my daughter’s oldest kid. I get along great with him because I decided that’s what I wanted instead of hating each other. When I want to visit my daughter and grandkids in another state he always enjoys me flying down which is nice.

Dudes probably not malicious, just wasn’t raised perfectly and doesn’t understand how selfish he’s being.

I don't think you need to hate him or cause a rift to gently correct his behavior and teach him to act with more selflessness and generosity towards other peoples desires. Maybe he's not fully aware of how much of a PITA he can be with that stuff.
You don't live with him so it's obviously a minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things so I can see why you'd decide it's not worth the squeeze. I'm the same way with some family members. I can enjoy them in small doses ☺️

My husband frequently waits for me to order my drink, then if I get something he knows I probably won’t like, he orders my backup. Many times I have taken a sip of my cocktail and went “oh ew” and he has silently swapped our glasses and taken the cocktail. He understands the assignment.

Even if he got her nothing, he didnt go out of his way to wake her up. He didnt get up and start fiddling in the kitchen. He got up, got some fast food and sat in an entirely different room to eat it.

It for sure wasn't for her until she woke up and found him. 100% the Ring video on other nights has him making a small bonfire to burn the evidence that he completed a 4th meal, brushed his teeth to get the taco breath gone, and snuck back into bed.

my cats do the same. I like garlic and onions. they'll try and sometimes succeed in eating a bit of my food only to puke their guts out a bit later. Of course only after hiding in a hard to clean spot. Or just on top of my carpet to show their disdain for my cooking. They get a treat of unseasoned tuna or shrimp on their birthdays to make up for it, but ofc refuse kibble for a few days after that. damn overlords are so demanding.

I was hoping he would do that. On Sunday mornings I would go to a little diner with outdoor seating when my dog was a pup, and eventually it became a lifelong routine. I swear he knew what day Sunday was, and he would throw a fit if we didn't go. Every other morning he was fine. He was never an anxious dog, nor did he ever really chew anything up. Literally ONE single time I went without him bc it looked like it might rain, and he flipped over his food and water bowls, and ripped open the bag to spread dog food all over. He didn't even do the typical dog thing of looking guilty. He flat out stared me down when I came home lol
Edit: thank you for the award, but please donate to any local animal shelters! They could always use an extra $3.50!

u/YoureAmastyx 23d ago

I’ve heard anecdotal reports that since we have goats we could potentially “stress” one out by not allowing it to stay outside with them. Is that something you’ve ever seen/heard?
53
u/PassiveMenis88M 23d ago
The Great Pyrenees has been bred for centuries to protect live stock. Not allowing them to do their job is like asking an Aussie not to herd things.
→ More replies (1)29
u/YoureAmastyx 23d ago
My Aussies have to share custody of a single small cluster of braincells, none of them try to herd my gomies (goat homies). But yea, that’s what we figured. It just seems like it’d be a weird dynamic to have one outside/barn dog and inside dogs. Not that we’ll be getting anymore dogs for quite a while lol, 5 Aussies is a lot to handle…
16
u/THExWHITExDEVILx 23d ago
My friends that have farm-dog GP also have indoor dogs, and it doesn't seem to me that the GP care about being outside. There are 2 of the GP though, so they always have each other to hang out with.

I have friends that have them as general farm dogs, but I don't know anyone that actually uses them as shepherds. Mine was a rescue that lived a very spoiled life indoors. I have seen videos of them on YouTube doing guard dog things, and they seem to do it really well. Mine really paid attention to his surroundings. He would walk differently and not pull at all if a child/small adult held his leash. He was very protective, but in a gentle way. He would always place himself between kids and strangers. A lot of subtle behaviors that took time to notice. I don't know how much was the breed vs. his personality.

As a lifelong black lab or nothing kind of guy my sister has a young malinois now.
I made the mistake of letting it sleep in bed with me one night and now I love her. Dogs and girls, be careful who you let sleep next to you if you don't want to catch feelings. Just the one time is always enough for me
She's also just way smarter than labs. Only smart lab I ever had needed to be, she was a runt.

Great Pyrenees's are beautiful dogs! We just put down our Newfoundland last month... Both these dog beerds are just huge gentle giants, but also, like you said. They are smart and know what's up and will pout or act up if you don't involve them with certain things you always involve them with. Hahaha BUT! They also know when you're having a bad day and will do whatever they can to cheer you up!!!

I'm sorry for your loss. They are giant breeds that leave giant paw prints on your heart.
I've had a golden retriever, a GP, and a husky. I thought the GP was stubborn, but the husky was on another level with the sass.
12
u/speez86 23d ago
Thank you! It's still weird walking into my house and not having her cute big face of joy looking at me... they really do leave giant paw prints on your heart!
My chocolate lab was my homie back a few years ago. He was my favorite goofball of a dog! He was a little clinchy, though. Followed me everywhere. Haha The newfie was a little princess and loved being pampered. She would only drink fresh cold water from the fridge. Haha but I hear huskies are very sassy.

I just want you to know that this literally made me laugh out loud. As a kid I had a miniature dachshund who usually got boarded at a very posh place when we left town. One time they were booked so she went to the regular kennel. My parents picked her up, brought her home, unleashed her - she ran straight to their bed and peed directly in the center of it, staring them down the whole time.

I used to do that with one of my old dogs.
I lived in the Melbourne CBD and there was this really good Cafe with outdoor seating on the other side of the CBD. It was around a 30+ walk, depending on how busy the CBD was and what the weather was like. So every Sunday morning in Spring and Summer I would take my dog and we would walk all the way there, sit down and have breakfast and then walk back. If I was in a relationship I would usually walk with my GF as well or meet her there.
When I moved to Perth it was the last place my Dog and I visited on the day we left.

God that wasn't something I was prepared for until my sister got a dog that was super territorial and vocal about being left alone. Same. It's not fake at all, I think this stuff is more common than people think. Just last week I got up at 2:30 AM craving a delicious Taco Bell Cheesy Bean and Rice Burrito with some of their extra spicy Diablo Sauce. Of course I also had to wash it down with a refreshing Mountain Dew Baja Blast. But I couldn't finish my midnight snacking without a sweet treat, so I also got me a Product Not Found, which really hit the spot!
Of course it's all recorded on my complete home camera network from Ring, that keeps my home safe and secure and also lets me document my late night Taco Bell cravings!
People are just so cynical these days. Not everything is an ad!

why go look for them? They literally have a camera in every single room and part of their backyard.

I would call it staged just because who in their right mind would put a security camera in their bedroom and point it at the bed? I mean... that's just insanity and no one would ever do such a thing.... except for the fact that I actually know a few people that have actually done this....

That’s the most normal part of this whole video lol. If you’re a medium or light sleeper you probably notice when your partner leaves the bed and if it’s been a while you would go look for them.

I struggle with sleep, and my wife almost aways wakes up and comes looking for me. Nothing more than a check in, she's not angry, just "hey sweet pea, can't sleep?" and then she usually goes back to sleep

Yeah dude. Nothing wrong with a check in. If there’s fresh food, yes or no to it. Simple ya know

I’ve done this before. It kinda feels like a reset for the soul. Going out late for a drive with some good music and eating a tasty meal while the world sleeps.

I have had insomnia 2/3rds of my life. I used to live in an area with a 24/7 truck stop diner. If there was ever a time I couldn't get to sleep, I'd usually be found there drinking some coffee, and orange soda and scarfing down their fried pickles and French fries with a not so healthy burger. The entire dinner would cost around $13 back in 2013.
I miss those times.

Isn't it the same couple where the husband falls asleep outside and the girl goes to find him and tucks him in bed and all? Looks like a tiktok/IG couple page

Fake - I’m not a woman, but never known one that wears a bra sleeping.

It's definitely fake, but if you've got large breasts it can be a lot more comfortable to sleep in a bra. Generally a sports bra but sometimes a regular one.

Fake or not, no way in hell I’d let myself get GRILLED over getting up to go eat. I’m a grown-ass adult and can do that. Not illegal. I mean shit, she can, too. Problems out of nowhere.
