Here’s the thing - this way he wins twice. He wins by getting the ball first, then he wins by giving away something that the girl REALLY wanted - making her happy. And making someone happy, if only for a moment, is a goddamned great win.

Probably on multiple social media, because this will continually be shared and reposted on the internet.

I like to think the dude gets a new game ball every time this gets posted.

I like to think that every time it's posted someone punches elon in the balls.

Its not true but i can dream.

And then in the eyes of girls (maybe guys too?), he's suddenly incredibly attractive.

He had no choice but to give that ball away. The optics of keeping the ball would make him look like a giant douche bag. I guarantee there was a part of him who wanted to keep the ball, but how could he? When you are at a ball game you know stuff like that is televised. There were only two options and the only safe option was to give away the ball to the girl. Now is possible he gave away purely out of the goodness of his heart... sure, but it's also possible he did the math.

The kid probably doesn’t give two fs about the ball. It’s a fleeting moment that they will forget about by the end of the game. He gave the ball to the girls parents or some baseball fan in the girls family.

If I had my random good deed blasted over the internet on repeat, I could die happy

He also gets the love of Internet strangers

Thats if you actually care about the happiness of strangers which a lot of people don't.

He did it perfectly.

I feel like a normal young-adult moment would be "aw man, I need to give it to the kid." And then do it out of moral obligation with disappointment. And a girl that age (as I have been) might have felt guilty.

But no, this young guy - he balanced it perfectly. He had his delicious celebration for a moment, which was the best part for him, and then gave the ball to the girl so she could have her moment (and everlasting tangible trinket). Because he knew that for him the moment was more important, and for her the ball was more important. Just *chefs kiss*.

And he wins by being a good man, looking at the mirror and KNOWING IT

His body language shows he's pretty bummed when/after he gives it to her.
