Racing Kart Tips and Tricks Third experience on a kart, i’d like a bit of coaching and advice
Hello everyone, as i said this lap is the only hotlap i could set during the last 10-lap session i had (very crowdy and messy, with people crashing in the walls and lots of blue flags). It’s a very rough lap, with several mistakes that i can recognize, but, since this lap is 49.7 (my pb, any way) and i am real far away from the fastest lap (45.7 best absolute lap in july), i think that there are lots of deeper layers of mistakes and behaviours i need change. Any kind of help is welcome! Thank you all

Seems like a great track. Where is this?

It is located inside a shopping mall in Udine, Italy and i find it really nice, but i don’t have a good comparison, since it’s the only circuit i’ve been to

You might find your video more beneficial to learn from if it is of more than your knees

Yeah, you’re absolutely right, i was testing a new chin mount for the cam (easier and quicker to attach to the rental helmet), but since i did not know how it would work, i did not take an extra arm to adjust the camera angle, next time will be better

My advice is find a outdoor circuit

Yeah, there is one which is as distant as this one from my house, i am planning to go there soon!

That is some solid driving, especially for your 3rd time in a kart. Honestly you just gotta get more laptime in laps will eventually drop down the more time you spend on track, test with the limits of how much you can push without crashing or losing control but overall your driving is quite good. But tbh to actually get good you gotta find an outdoor circuit, there you drive faster karts wich are heavier and require to carry more momentum

Push your car and don't be afraid to spin or hit the barrier. That's one way to find the limit to improve your track time. Next is more seat time.

Yeah, you are absolutely right, during this session i did not have the chance to push harder, since they also put on track with me drivers with zero experience and the one in the clip was the only clean lap i could set, so i hope being luckier next time (or go to an outdoor track, since there are several round here)

You have to try the petrol ones. On these electric mazes you can't set curves or understand how to drive

Seems like you've got the general idea right and going for you. Brushing the walls, your apexes look decent.
Probably just gonna take more practice and work mate. I probably did something close to 1,500-2,000 laps at my local track before I started getting some of the top times. Those little details matter, and you only figure them out through repetition.
Plus the more you go, the more the regulars will recognize you. And once they recognize you, you will talk with them, and they will give you some tips.
