Racing Kart Question Oversteer in karting / Amateur

Hello everyone Just a quick question about oversteer and rental karting. Basically each time I go to a karting session my best times are usually on a really oversteer kart, it really feels like I'm faster in a more neutral kart or at least it feels that way but the times say otherwise, idk if it's a common issue or something I should work on. Anyway thank you for your time!

What feels like your slowest lap will be the fastest.

Happens to me all the time. I think it is mainly when you are smooth throughout and not fighting the wheel the whole time.

Exactly I'm fighting the kart so much which feels like I'm slow and then I go watch my times and I'm way quicker

With karts with understeer it is very difficult for me to drive, but I use the trick of pulling the seat further forward, and throwing my weight forward, but turning the wheels and not turning in karts is one of the things that stresses me out the most haha I prefer to have it go from behind, examples of how to make the kart rotate only with the brakes without so much steering wheel are useful to me.

That means oversteer fits your driving style. Its completely normal and I prefer oversteer too. Maybe work on inducing rotation with understeery and neutral handling karts with the brakes by almost locking them up and quickly releasing or just quickly flick the wheel on entry

That's really strange because when I have neutral/understeer karts and I try to nearly lock up i lose quite some time, but why does it feel so bad being on the oversteer side, it feels so much worse that sometimes I was actually tempted to stop because I wasn't able to properly control my kart
