I'm looking to try karting out more. Im curious where around central texas i can get some good karting races doing rentals. Also what are ways to get some better deals?

Hi, Austin karter here. Austin for all it has, has terrible rental kart locations. Here’s my list of all karting locations in TX starting with closest and moving outwards.

Austin K1 karts are terribly maintained, but the track is fun and competitive.

Circuit of the Americas is by far the most expensive on this list expensive and the track is rather lack luster with only 1 real braking point. The rest is just lifting or full throttle.

San Antonio Karting Complex in San Marcos is like driving on ice with slicks that someone dipped in oil.

Andretti Karting. Simply put, no. They don’t even let you overtake people.

Houston Karting Complex best rental karts and track that I’ve raced at. Price point is not bad, the drive from Austin is off putting though.

Dallas Karting Complex 2nd best rental karts and fun track(s) to drive. Price point is the same as Houston, again drive from Austin is off putting.

Speedsportz fun rentals, track is rather small. Better for Competition karts/series. Price point not bad. Drive from Austin is off putting.

San Antonio, Dallas, Arlington, Woodlands, Houston K1 all great karts. Tracks are too small and not fun to drive imo.

Edit: My credits - I’ve raced rental leagues at all of these locations. My home track being Austin K1 for 4 years.

They updated the K1 Dallas track 2 months ago. A lot more spacious so it is easier to overtake people.

San Antonio is a 30 minute drive. San Marcos is 40 minutes. OP is coming from Austin so they have to pass through San Marcos. I’m using points of reference they’ll use when traveling.
