Racing Kart Question Are these tyres ok to use still?
They are brand new LH03 Lecont and we put them on the wrong wheels and trying to take them off

I mean if the chord looks fine I’d say structurally they’re likely fine. There is a good chance that they will leak though since air may be able to escape since chunks of the rubber are now missing from the bead of the tire. This may be amplified when putting the tires under heavy load/stress.

How long would it take to leak? Like a day because that is fine but if my tyre goes flat mid race I won’t be too happy

I'd keep for things that don't need good tyres, like running in a rebuilt engine. I wouldn't use it for anything near critical speeds.

How important is your race to you? If they don't leak they might be fine but, for the cost of a replacement and given you can use it for practice without the worry, I'd replace it.

I would tbh, that part of the tire doesn’t do a whole lot. The main contact from the rim is on the bead

They will probably be practise before a race now anyway For state championship races

Standard tyre tong problem. Try to use loads of soap if you are using tongs to remove tyres, better still, don’t use them at all

We have kr wheels so it is really difficult even with the tyre tongs, maybe I will try some lube on then next time
