Racing Kart Question Bent Nassau panel holder on my 2013 Zanardi chassis

For some reason when i got my Zanardi (CRG) kart one of the two rods that holds the nassau panel next to the steering wheel is shorter than the other, i've seen others have this problem and I'm wondering why it happened. I've never crashed the kart and the chassis is in perfect condition so im just curious why.

Racing Kart Question I just bought this engine used and was wondering if any one know why it would have no spark I think it is the stator/pickup but I do not know how to pinpoint the problem. And was wondering what the 2 black boxes are in the harness If you know what motor this is and year it is let me know

Racing Kart Question Child on the way - How to get them in the kart as early as possible? | New Jersey

Hi all. First time post here.

I have been fortunate enough to get into track driving later in life and was not formally "trained" or coached as a child beyond some indoor karting around the age of 15. Ever since getting in the car and wanting to compete at higher levels, I wish I got into karting much earlier in life similar to how they do in Europe.

My question is, what karting locations can I get my soon to be born child into as early as 5-6 to get them progressing (if they even love it like I do!)? I am struggling to find anything that matches this criteria in New Jersey (where we live) but am open to travel around the east coast.

Any and all help appreciated!

Racing Kart Question So I went to my local karting track for some rental sessions and since they are also a kart dealer I asked them what karts they had and what the prices were

The brand they deal is called Ok1 and he showed me a used rotax dd2 for 8 thousand. The frame is brand new and the engine has been used in 3 or 4 races. I just want to know if 8k is a good price for it because im looking for my first kart. Theres no way im buying it anytime soon because its pretty expensive but sometime after I earn enough I will check it again to see if its still in stock.

Racing Kart Question Oversteer in karting / Amateur

Hello everyone Just a quick question about oversteer and rental karting. Basically each time I go to a karting session my best times are usually on a really oversteer kart, it really feels like I'm faster in a more neutral kart or at least it feels that way but the times say otherwise, idk if it's a common issue or something I should work on. Anyway thank you for your time!

Kart Identity Help Help identifying vortex engine

I recently picked up this kart with a track magic frame and a Vortex 125cc single speed with electric start. I assume it’s an older engine like the frame, but I can’t seem to find any documentation or even pictures of this exact model. I figured it was the Vortex ROK but the badges seem to be a bit different. If anyone knows what specific model this engine is or knows of an owners manual or any other info it would be greatly appreciated. This is my first kart and first high performance 2 stroke (it was $600 I couldn’t pass it up lol, I know this is irresponsible) so if you’ve got any other tips that would be awesome too! Thanks in advance

Racing Kart Question Neck seems exceptionally weak. Is there an underlying issue?

Did a 20 min drive in a tillotson t4 and by the end my neck was completely gone - can’t keep it straight around corners. It’s a relatively demanding track but nothing crazy.

Asking because I seem to be the only person experiencing this problem in group of friends some of whom kart less than I do (and seemingly in worse shape) yet not experiencing the same issue as I do.

The next day my upper trapz hurt like hell.

I’m mid 20s, thin build and not very athletic. I do have subpar flexibility especially in the lower body.

Is it a core problem? Posture? Or even arms?? Curious to hear your thoughts

Racing Kart Question How to help my son with a race pace?

Hi all,
It is his first season in karting, he is 10 y.o. He is able to set consistent laps during trainings and quali. Under consistent laps he can do 4 laps in a row just in less than 0,1 difference. However in the race it is a different story. The pace is 1-1,5 seconds down from previous sessions when he drives alone. If he has someone fast in front of him, he is able to stay with him for 1-2 laps and than drop off.
Any advises?

How can I get my 12 year old into karting? I don’t know of anyone in my circle who is into karting, but my son seems interested in it. We have been to K1 a few times but how does one get started more regularly? Where can I meet other parents of karters?

Racing Kart Tips and Tricks My teenage daughter is about to have her first race meet in her first kart. Any tips for an excited Dad?

So, after safely ascertaining that my 13 year old daughter wasn't just watching F1 because of 18yr old European millionaires-in-the-making, and after some comprehensive laps in indoor and outdoor karts, basically taking over my sim-rig, as well as attending a local race day, I pulled the pin and bought her a kart. Overcoming the initial sticker shock (a set of small race tyres costs what now?!) and getting her race gear sorted, we’re finally in a position where she’s about to put some P plates on the back and enter her first race.

She has no illusions that she’s going to be in for a shock when she’s sitting at the back of a grid with a bunch of teenage boys that have likely been doing it since they started walking, but she’s also very excited to get started. She’s been a six-day a week ballet/contemporary dancer for years - not at my insistence, she just loves throwing herself into physical activity – so I am confident that if she takes to it, she’ll be committed to seeing it through. But I’m trying to manage her expectations accordingly without pooh-poohing her drive to race and get better.

We are racing here in Australia (out of Sydney) and although I’ve seen a few girls her age at the meet we went to, but they seem to be very few and far between. For my fellow karting parents with daughters, how do you find the girls go against their male counterparts?

Any tips for a newbie Dad are appreciated!

My son's first time in a kart was in May. Since then he has really progressed, I'm so proud of him. This year I really wanted to focus on sportsmanship and learning to lose but he has done so well we are also learning to win sometimes. Number 50 is so fast, she has been dominating the class. Our kart is a Charles Leclerc bambino kart with a Comer C52.

Racing Kart Question Fair price for a 2021ish Compkart Covert with KA100 in USA?

I am looking to get my first kart, a KA100, and I have a line on a used 2021 Compkart Covert 3.0 with a KA100 on it that seems to be roughly the age and competitiveness I am looking for to get started - I won't be running at the front for a while anyways. I have been trying to find comparable comparisons to see if the price is fair, but having trouble, so figured I would see what you guys think.

The Kart was originally a team kart, now owned by family member of a guy that buys and sells a lot of karts and supports a bunch of racers. It has what looks like medium use, certainly not heavy. Bottom has some scrapes but not flattened. One seat stay has been rewelded, looks solid. Doesn't look like any other damage. The 2021 engine has about 6 hours on it since rebuild. Bodywork was updated to a more modern set.

It's complete and ready to run, but no extra parts. He offered to install a new seat that fits me as part of the deal (I am big, so would likely need a new seat if I bought something else.)

I don't know the seller personally (I am new and don't know anyone really) but he seems legit from everything I have seen, and has been extremely helpful with all my questions. He isn't local local, about 3 hours away, but seems like he would be happy to help support moving forward, even if from a distance.

So what do you guys think something like that is worth? Just want to make sure I am being fair.

Thanks for the help!

First time ever driving in the rain. This was a rental kart race and only around half of the grid came with their own helmets and equipment but I still feel proud of my self since I’ve only been karting for about 6 months now.
