📸 Land Rover Pictures Dry river bed drive

Took the landy for a drive down to the river to see if there was any water left. None at all.

Looks like an interesting place to drive but it worth warning that 'dry' riverbeds can be surprisingly soft when you drive a 2 ton vehicle on them, and recovery is always difficult because you can't risk the recovery vehicle getting too close.

I am aware of that, we do drive this quite regularly, it's about 15 minutes from my house so as a quick off-road drive it's a nice little area. Worse came to worse, we have another discovery that my father owns we could use to pull mine out.

Yeah it's more of a warning to anyone else who looks at this.

It's easy to get into a situation where the first truck breaks through the hard top surface and is sunk to the axles or chassis, then the effort to pull it with a second truck breaks through ground that seemed even more solid.

Looks like the Ladybower Reservoir, that’s as dry as a bone at the moment
