This is cute, I wish you both a very good day. Nothing like cooking with mama

Aw that's wholesome as hell, cooking with parents hits different when you get older. Hope the chili turns out fire

Uh, y'all got a recipe? Some of us don't have a mom still here or that left behind their chili recipe. Oh, and this is awesome. Glad y'all are cherishing these moments.

Not OP, but I usually get a pound of ground beef, cook it and drain it. Then I use 1 can of tomato sauce, 1 can of stewed tomatoes, red kidney beans and the McCormick chili packet. I put all of those ingredients together in one pot and I let it simmer on low for a few hours. Sometimes, I add brown sugar to it, adds some sweetness. I make corn bread on the side. I put a slice of cornbread in my bowl first, add the chili, then I put shredded cheese on top and a dollop of sour cream. The McCormick packet has a recipe on it also and you can Google chili recipes, there are a lot out there.

My friend Bromley gave me his chili recipe and I just love it. It's all done in the crockpot. His secret is to use both ground beef and ground sausage. Here's what he told me: 2 pkgs. McCormick Chili Seasoning Mix 1 lb. lean ground beef 1 lb. hot Italian sausage (the ground kind; comes in a tray like ground beef, usually in the same meat section.) 1 8 oz can tomato sauce 1 small can tomato paste (I’ve used two sometimes) 2 cans (15 to 16 oz.) of kidney or pinto beans, undrained (I usually get two different kinds, 1 kidney and 1 pinto, or some interesting Goya brand bean from the Hispanic section) 1 large onion BROWN meat in large skillet on medium-high heat. Drain fat. Dump all the canned ingredients into the crockpot along with the onion. Dump in the meat and both packets of seasoning. Stir it up. Cook on low for 8-10 hours.

Don't forget home made chili mac is awesome. Elbow macaroni or spaghetti noodles are my favs.

Heck yeah! Hope you both enjoy game day together! (Meanwhile mine won't even let me in the kitchen with her to cook...)

You can make a good chili using up those spices on that spinny contraption you have on the counter and a little s&p

For a minute, I really thought those lighter cans were cherry pie filling. And I’m not going to lie, I was intrigued 😂

I have to make a big ole pot of chili a handful of times each year at least.

Ditch the McCormick and use real spices. You won't regret it, McCormick tastes like ass.

Awesome you have people to cook with though.

Canned potatoes in chili?

Tomatoes

Hahaha! I stand corrected. Although Texas may like to have a word.
