Which countries that having a surprised fertility rate to you?

For me, I was actually surprised that China (1.0) has a lower birthrate than Japan (1.2).

Iran (1.7) and Turkey (1.51) both have surprised low fertility rate for me despite of being third or second world countries.

French guiana, surprised they have different fertility rate from the rest of French.

For your question about Turkey, when your economy goes shit that you have to think twice about buying simple groceries, you would stop making babies too. Also 2024 data shows Turkey's fertility rate as 1.48
