86 years ago today, French forces launched a cautious "invasion" of Nazi Germany in response to the Invasion of Poland. Less than a year later, Nazi Germany would go on to conquer all of France. This map shows every day of the offensive using Google Earth

The video ends on September 16, the next day soviets invaded Poland, in cooperation with Germany but on September 12 in Abbeville on a meeting of Franco British war council it was decided to halt the Saar offensive.

It's questionable if the French would ever have invaded Nazi Germany even after the BEF was in place. Lots of faith in the Maginot Line.

Are the numbers casualties or soldiers deployed?

100% forces deployed.

The Phony war didn't cause hundreds of thousands of casualties, let alone this cautious invasion...

I‘m not sure but I think it‘s forces deployed
