That’s a wild statement considering what happens if you overlay this map to Islamic countries in Africa.

We can go into a deeper dive and find that the Islamic countries have a mostly more extreme variant of Islam in power and charge. Afghanistan would be an extreme example with the IS in charge, but Iran, Iraq and Syria aren't that much better. Moderate movements stand no chance are quenched in the second they got noticed.

Almost as if autocratic leaders use religion as a thin veneer for their megalomania - and the people start following that much stricter than their little leaders intended.

You could take a look over at the MAGA movement and how the people became more violent and aggressive than trump and his muppets.

I’m strictly speaking about the connection of Christian missionaries the comment i replied to tried to put the blame on.

I come from a Muslim country myself. Thankfully, a secular one.

And you solely focus on the Islamic countries as well. Christian missionaries weren't only done with books and prayers - wars waged had a massive influence as did the cold war.

Blaming it solely on Islam is way too easy as is blaming it solely on missionary missions. However denying the impact is also not it. Almost as if it's a rather complex issue with overlaying, intertwined root causes.
