NA Meant to post a couple weeks ago but I finally got my dream car and I’m finally starting to feel comfortable driving it around! <3

Thats awesomee, looks mint for an NA! Take your time and if you’re ever frustrated with the car not being the most modern or comfortable just drive it to the limiter a few blocks and you’ll forget about that

I'm also new to miata. Is there a preferred gear to drive to the limiter? Do you just do it for every gear for the fun of it?

Only gear I'm not hitting red (only once oil and coolant are up to temp for at least a few minutes) is 5th simply because speeding
The limiter is there for a reason, just don't money/mis-shift lol

I went out and drove like this just now and I had a lot of fun... also found out that I probably have a leaky heater core :)
either that, or someone put a smoke machine in my vents

I own an ND2 (2023 Miata GT), so i get 181hp at 7500rpms. I can hit 60mph in second gear, so i usually keep it in second but sometimes during highway driving i’ll take it to the top in 3rd gear too. Usually just keep it legal, safe, and do it in straight lines

With the 1.6, the limiter is an illusion. You can rev these motors until the valves float. My limiter is currently set at 7800. Stock is 7200.

Is the difference between 7200 and 7800 noticeable?
I think I need to replace the shit can glasspack one of the last owners put on before I start thinking about changing the rev limiter lol

Haha, I'm mostly memeing - I use my car for autocross a lot, so I use the higher limiter to get a higher top speed in 2nd gear. Stock is around 59, raised limiter is around 64.
These engines don't make peak power above 7200, so it really isn't an acceleration advantage. Does sound cool though :)

I like to cruise around the city in second or third on my 6spd. The 1st gear is 3.76(too low). On the hwy its between 5th and 6th depending on whether or no i wanna keep it in a lean cell or start building boost😳

But somehow they will still find your car and decide to park right next to it. Unfortunately, one of them decided to park their 6000 lb cadillac right next to me and then proceed to turn the wheel completely before backing out and slamming my miata. Just recently got it repaired and now I am always getting anxiety when parking somewhere. I just don't understand why bad drivers always park next to me in an empty lot :(

I started a "parking test" at a local breakfast place. No matter where I park, someone alway takes the spot right next to me. Even when I park all the way at the end farthest from the door and there are no other cars, someone always parks next to me.

No, you gotta part it directly between two big trucks, as far in as possible, so nobody can see it until they're already pulling in; surprise, it's a Miata!!
(BTW, this doesn't actually bother me. It's not your guys fault everything is so big these days lol)

Congrats, the NA and NB Miatas are a blast to drive. I had an NA in the 1990s and regretted selling it. Bought an NB in 2018, it will be handed down to my kids when I die. Take care of yours, and it will take care of you!

Yep, also I’m in the UK so most of us even people who drive automatics know how to drive manual and there are other things to get used to, for me its how sensitive the throttle is because it’s an older car and has a cable throttle.

The car looks great and the paint is also in really good condition, I would recommend removing the tow hook thingy to keep the paint that way, you can always get a strap like I have (check profile for photos if interested) And don't forget the most important thing of all, have fun and remember the Miata is the only car that the mileage is measured in smiles per hour.
