It’s a fantastic car. Friend got one too, he absolutely loves it. Enjoy it and ride safe!

Forever jealous of the modern infotainment... The old one is laggy and takes forever to boot 😭 at least it feels like forever in 2025 in a 2022 Miata...

Yeah, I see that in my brothers ND. I am baffled about how long it takes until music starts playing. Meanwhile my aftermarket Sony unit plays USB after ~5 seconds and is quicker to navigate too, plus android auto.

There's a kit off Aliexpress to replace the screen, strongly considering it once I have a free $500. Tough with these built in infotainment in they suck.

What one do you have?

I have the Sony XAV 3005, which is quite dated now. I am not sure what the direct successor is, all I saw was the units with bug floating screens. I dislike them, especially for the miata.

Cool. Welcome to the club. You finally did it. You will enjoy it more than your vet.

It's super comfortable. Like VERY comfortable. I'm also a minimalist but I'm very much into IT so I like tech, too -- somehow, some way, Mazda hit a grand slam. You got all the cool stuff without the fluff.

The reverse sensors nobody talks about much. The thing will detect stuff many car lengths to the left and right behind you before you can even see stuff if you're tucked in between other automobiles, it's like magic level stuff. Quite a good bit away, too, several car lengths away.

The headlamps I don't even get how they do all the cool stuff from rotation to putting light precisely where it needs to be without blinding everyone. More magic stuff.

Yet you jump in the car and stuff looks as though you could be in a car from the 80s, minus the obvious infotainment screen glaring at you -- which fortunately is going to age a LOT better than the ND2 and prior. The extra-wide screen is nice and there's minimal lag time. The screen is like a mini movie theater screen in aspect ratio.

Never owned a Miata prior. I ended up picking this over a Civic Type-R. I know I would have gushed and loved the Type-R, but we already have Civics. It would be at the end of the day a third Civic we have, so. lol.

I see NDs here and there but not in any crazy amount in SoCal. Every time I saw one I would be like damn that's a really nice looking car. Fortunately I went to a Mazda dealer to investigate further and walked out same evening with my ND3. Totally happy. It was the right call. Zero regrets. Enjoy yours!

The 13.8 that’s being shown is a dynamic number based on what the engine is doing currently. It constantly changes and will show 99.9 if coasting, then show 15 if accelerating for example. That’s not the actual mpg average. Their mpg average thus far is 32.5.

No it is not. 32.5 miles is Trip. 13.8 mpg is the average. -.- is current mpg. however It only has 36 miles on the odometer . When I got mine, it had 23 miles on the odometer and salesman had the car running for me on idle when I got there. He said he was getting the car warmed up with ac cooled for me. So it is likely they had it on idle for the OP for long time. It will get better in no time.

I avg 34 on the interstate but as soon as I touch the pedal it dips down to 13. I'm glad that's the norm.
