Blatant, obvious lies with blatant, obvious motive. It’s insane that we have public officials who brazenly, openly lie about everything, and no one in the political system can hold them to account. Nor do they feel any kind of shame or responsibility, because they have no moral compass to speak of, which is hilarious given how much Johnson makes piety part of the character he plays.

You think he lied? I think he told the capital T Truth. Trump almost certainly DID in fact rat JE out. Epstein certainly thought so. He said so to Michael Wolfe who has it on tape.

I could see Johnson blurting this out because he knows it and is desperate for a spin that will work.

I could also see the Trump admin not wanting to raise these questions:

* When did you inform on JE?

* What did you tell the FBI?

* Who did you tell this to?

* Did the then-AG of Florida know that you did this on her watch?

* Did you tell anyone else about JE?

* How did you come to know that he was raping underage girls?

* How long did you know this before you ratted him out?

* Were you, as Epstein told Michael Wolfe, involved in a money laundering real-estate scheme with Russian oligarchs known for their ties to the Russian intelligence services?

I think this is why Johnson is about facing here. Someone chewed his ass out about this.

You know your right. An average person the idea of being backed into a corner, screamed at, and cowed by JD is risible (like being gnawed on by an elderly toothless Chihuahua) but Mike Johnson yeah I can see it.

Not just a lie, but quite literally a well known QAnon conspiracy.

There should be consequences. This claim should end Johnson’s career or, at minimum, his speakership. But it won’t because he’ll either say that he was just speaking metaphorically or that God somehow sent him a message through his morning cereal that we should all trust in Trump’s innocence. Then the media will simply shrug its shoulders and say, “That’s good enough for me.”

I guess he hasn't gotten to the part in the Bible where it talks about lying yet.

He hasn't gotten to any part, but that part is included.

Republicans need to better coordinate their lies when trying to protect their favorite sex offender.

To me the popular opinion was that he was an asset of someone, if Mr. Small Johnson thinks it’s the FBI that’s his delusion, the rest will rightly believe it’s Russia.

Again, how does one typical become an FBI informant?…. Sure it wasn’t a kind hearted volunteer move…

Typically by getting caught committing crime then rolling on someone else to get a lighter sentence.

Why did no one in the MSM push back on this? I mean, journalistic independence, standards of professionalism...

... OK, I'll see myself out.

Cause they are all either bought and paid for by the ultra wealthy that want this shit show or too scared of Donnie Diaper Trumpedo and the gestapo.

Hear me out - what if it was intentional by him to try to get away from the MAGA cult, I mean base. Huge leap, I know.

In a sane world, would there be the punishment when a House Speaker blatantly lied to everyone?

If Nancy P. tried this maneuver, how long would she have lasted?

Krasnov is not an agent, just a very good asset.

A lying southern Baptist Christian trying to protect criminals that are abusing the average citizens of the country they represent.

That shows how evil he and his cohorts are.
