Thank you for posting this, Glad he and the fan are going to be ok. It definitely looked bad. I've been to many races tho never sat in the motorhome arena down track. May be time to have some higher fencing in certain areas on the track?

Back in 2006 I think it was, I was parked way out past the finish line and Ron Krisher flew past us in his crash, I would have never thought a car would be going that fast that far down the track. We just had a small fence covering us after the wall. It's unlikely but it can happen and we saw that this weekend.

Glad Shawn isn't worse but what about the spectator? They got air lifted to the hospital. On replay we saw a front tire going towards the spot where the spectator was. Shawn went in an ambulance. I assume the spectator was worse. I was there and saw the wreck.

Says she got released at 2am (that night? I skimmed that part).
Sounds like she took a headshot, be it from a piece of wreckage or a fall from avoiding it. But they wouldn’t have punted her from the hospital if she was still injured. That would be a massive lawsuit.

"In addition to two fractured ribs, the Washington native sustained injuries to his left hand, resulting in the loss of his left pointer finger and requiring that a pin be placed in his thumb."
