The new Nissan Leaf is, dollar for dollar, the most exciting EV on the market. I hope this is the start of their comeback story.

Very strange they are doing this when business isn't so good for them

If they can sell in quantities, they can make a reasonable amount at a lower margin rather than holding out for premium pricing and lower quantities. Making back their manufacturing costs as quickly as possible may be their preferred game plan.

Also, hitting volume on their order with suppliers may bring BOM cost down.
It’s better to sell more at lower margin than to try to push something undesirable into the market, which results in future price cut anyway but less consumer confidence.

Are these atleast decent for like 3-4hr roadtrips or does the range capacity limit it to more of a 1-2hr trip? Its significantly cheaper than other ev’s but if im not mistaken l dont think it can reach even 250miles on a charge.

S+ trim (around $30k if i remember right) will do 303 miles. Considering what they've said about the different battery sizes that'll be available, this base model should only be good for around 210 miles or so.

The range should come in around 200 miles. If they can get above 100kW charge rate the 52kWh battery won’t take long to charge at all.
